It is unfortunate that many people don’t under the origins of modern day music, I know people who refer to country as “white people” music when in reality it wouldn’t exist the way it does without African Americans (for example, there is a lot of Scotts Irish origin in country music like the violin and certain playing styles, but the origin of the banjo is West African, and many tunes derived from slave folk songs like Cotton Eye Joe).
