Should Gaga ban phone recordings next tour?

Let's discuss phone etiquette for a sec.

Her Coachella performance was exceptional, but the sea phones from the first night was a bit of a buzzkill. It also trickled down heavily into some of the tour dates too.

Gaga obviously is aware of this issue, hence why she keeps asking us to "PUT OUR HANDS UP"! 50x a night. :huntyga:

And yes, i am aware of the irony.

I did attend the MAYHEM BALL and i did in fact take out my phone to record, however i only took a total of 2 minutes from the 1 hour and a half show. :poot:

WDYT?

With how much we pay for these concerts.. let us record them is the least they can do to make us like we are worth something :Cautious:

I will say, having been to a concert that had the phone ban and yandr pouches in use - it is a significantly better experience if you are in the pit and its standing.

I personally would back the yandr phone lock pouches being used for standing and not have it in force for the seats.

Phones are way more disruptive to the vibe in the pit vs seats.

You make a valid point, true.

It's 2026 and almost 2027, you can't stop people using their phones for recording. It's way normalized now ever since pocket cameras days in early 2000s. It's their rights and prerogative to do so. It's mainly serves as proof they were physically at that show. I feel like the more some people have resistance over this, the more the rest of the people will fight back. People need to just get with the time.

The thing is that concerts are worth their money way more when you're actually engaged with it instead of trying to look for a good angle amidst a sea of phones :huntyga:

I understand the value of a good recording but I think it would be a net positive if phones weren't so present.

Interesting, I think her team used the lock pouches concept for REQUIEM filming.

We shouldn't normalise antisocial behaviour though.

Like there were clips of someone at the london Ariana gigs where someone had set up a ring light and phone stand to record themselves lipsynching & dancing with ari in the background.

That's disruptive as ****.

There's also countless examples of people filming others enjoying themselves and posting it online. That's gross as ****. And if you are a regular concert attendee you can see how often people stop dancing and enjoying themselves when they see someone near them pull their phone out.

Like since people can't control themselves. Why should we accept it?

I believe so, I saw Ghost in Manchester and they used them and genuinely had a much better time and made actual friends with people around me at the barrier.

And the crowd was way livelier than the average crowd is nowadays.

I really think having a phone ban for standing but not seating would be a best of both worlds approach.

And its better than the placebo approach where they just have security shine high intensity torches at people filming or they stop mid song/show and start kicking off/refusing to continue.

I know, me personally, I take a 5-10 seconds vids of each song and then I engage with the song and having fun, but I still want something to remember.

Each person can choose how they want to experience the concerts:shrug:
