I might be delusional but Bloody Mary feels bigger to me than even Rain On Me You’re not delusional, it definitely was. Numbers don’t mean sh*t anymore, most of the time, it’s more about longevity and impact than chart peak position, which can be manipulated easily and mostly reflect how frontloaded a song is but sometimes it’s still a bit frustrating to think that Bloody Mary’s peak was so low, cause absolutely everyone under 40 (at least) knows it

Red 95,079
Streaming made charting obsolete and pointless. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
Monstermilo 3,822
i think that streaming has ruined the billboard charts. it used to be a big deal because people had to actually buy your music before..... now they can download one app and pay 10 dollars a month and can repeat one song over and over again........... artists shouldnt be able to occupy the entire top ten of the hot 100 either, it basically renders the charts useless. i know that streaming is the future, but its also the reason that charts really dont mean **** anymore. mariah carey getting 19 number ones on the hot 100 will forever be more iconic than any of todays artists. Monstermilo 3,822
streaming is the only reason shallow and rain on me hit number one too - so us little monsters have def benefited from it. but the whole formula needs to be recalculated.... Monstermilo 3,822
honeslty streaming on spotify has made music so much more accessible so im all for streaming being the future and paying ten bucks a month instead of buying each song for 1.29..... but thats why charts dont mean **** to me anymore. because chart milestones arent as impressive.
