Bad Romance: The minimalism of the 90s eastern-eurodance set against the enormous theatrical bombastic, almost musical-esque, way of her performing the lyrics... The ominous vibes that holds the theme of the album, the random nod to her love of fashion, the French lyrics to make it even more European... And that is the song alone, don't get me started on the music video Scheiße, I don't even know where to begin. 90s eastern-eurodance mixed with souldiva meets dancefloor commander, combined with a Berghain version of Justify My Love-esque Madonna. The simple melody combined with that extreme beat that kicks you in the face and punches you in the stomach, to eventually command you to get up and fight with it's lyrics. And then the same can be said of The Edge of Glory, Alice, Judas, Paparazzi, Government Hooker, Shallow, Bloody Mary, Heavy Metal Lover and all of her jazz songs. I have to say Bad Romance isn’t THE absolute best (as the mixing and lyrics could be better) but it happened to be a bigger hit than the others so that’s the answer everyone gives The best SONG (melody/lyrics without production) is either The Edge of Glory, Yoü And I or Marry The Night.
