87% US Gen-Z Are Using iPhones, 70% Subscribers Of Spotify, New Survey Shows

Isn’t this article mainly about Apple Music vs Spotify? Why are people arguing about Apple and Android? lol. I have a lot of Apple products and even Apple Music free with my wireless carrier but I still gravitate towards Spotify. It’s just easier to discover and find things and it’s more social. A lot use it for those reasons. Apple Music does have a lot better quality but I find myself listening to the same songs over and over again because the discovery of new music just isn’t there. Plus Spotify has music that Apple Music doesn’t have. I can understand why the younger generation doesn’t like Apple Music as much.

Androids are so clunky and non user friendly.

Every Android user I've met is sketchy in one way or another.

It's a red flag to own an Android, some might say.

My 3 favorite Tops have all been Android users. Maybe they're good at other stuff, not taking surveys online. :icant:

Spoiler

And the 2 most annoying bottoms had white iPhones with the big big screen. (Plus/Pro Max) :billie:

That's because it's an uncontested market protected by US government with only Google, Samsung and Apple competing.

Not really it’s bc gen z grew up ON iPhones. The craze hit as they were growing up. It’s like how Disney adults are a thing for millennials. It doesn’t matter if another phone is functionally better. Apple has psychology on its side

So get into that for me. Bc I’m in a bit of a rut on tidal. I feel like I need to manually find everything and I get annoyed bc I love new music. How does Spotify get new music in front of you that you’d actually want to hear AND you actually use?

I used to have an iPhone and switched to the Pixel. I'm very happy with it. I feel too restricted by iPhones.

Same! I started with the 3 a few years back and now I have a 7 Pro and it's life changing!

My disdain for iPhones is from personal experience. I had 2 or 3 models and within a few months my battery was ALWAYS dying and the camera was crap. Also I love the customization of Android and it's a lot more intuitive, at least this Google one.

The cameras on iPhone may be much better now, but every time there was a new iPhone, mine would start to slow down for no reason. I think the interface is cute but I couldn't stand my phone always dying.

Tbh while the internal hardware and price of iPhones have been questionable in the longest, iOS as an operating system is much easier and more pleasant to use than android. People have gotten so used to iOS that a better android phone is not appealing enough, myself included. If tech companies really wanna bring down the monopoly, start innovating in the operating system department.

The problem is that there's literally no competition anymore.

The antitrust suit against Google is revealing that they not only pay Apple a ridiculous amount of money to have Google search default on Safari, but Apple is even working to make Siri and iOS rely more on Google search to benefit both of them since Apple gets a portion of Google's search revenue.

I read that Samsung makes almost as much profit selling Apple the screens used in the iPhone as they would selling an entire Galaxy phone.

Android's goal right now is to just exist for products that can't use iOS.

No. It's gold. But it looks green. The person that called this gold was color blind. I wish it was rose gold like my computer which looks almost pink.

Bit rich to say innovate on software when apple has been the same for like a decade. The newer Google Pixels and Galaxy smartphones have features in the software that apple doesn't, for example on the pixel you can delete people and things out of photos, you can replace for example the sea in a photo with a field of flowers, all done via the software. I will also say the os of the pixel 8 is perhaps even more simplified than iOS and runs buttery smooth, I think at this point it's brand loyalty.

SonOfAphrodite

Used to be a die hard Spotify user but switched to Apple Music and I love it way more. It’s louder, more high quality, runs well with my iPhone. Spotify does have a better laptop app tho.
