It's finally midnight where I live, so I thought it would be appropriate to post this now, lol.

Ten years ago on a day like this, Lady Gaga's fourth studio album, ARTPOP, was officially gifted to the world. 

Tagged as her most acid and controversial album, it still is a very popular and vexing topic among the fandom and pop culture. Honestly, I haven't seen a thing labeled as ahead of its time with the same frequency and vehemency as I have seen with ARTPOP.

You could like this album, and you may love it or hate it, but something you cannot deny is how beloved and important it is for those who genuinely stan it and how remarkable it has become years after its release!

Diary time: It came out on my first big out of state flight to audition for Juilliard and see family for the first time in years. 

It was terrifying and I was so scared of having to grow up and find my difficult career/life path forward as an adult. Hearing her confront the toughest things in her life, be artistic asf to the point of losing mainstream appeal but still sticking by her art, shaking the table, and committing to the world she imagined really gave me the courage to keep going. The album instantly became my favorite project of hers and has remained so after a decade. 

I'm so thankful we got act 1 and will always hold onto hope for a revisit one day, but even if that never happens, it makes me smile knowing how much ARTPOP means to her too.
