Saying Israel is at fault but not Hamas, who are directly responsible for the slaughtering of over 300 innocent civilians, are at fault should tell you enough about this user's point of view.

Israel is at fault for this entire conflict. They're the aggressor in this whole deal, Hamas' extreme and violent actions are a direct response to their occupation.

Doesn't make it right, nobody is saying it makes it right, but that's the reality.

But I'm not debating anything still, I just wanted to jump in 'cause it was getting personal. @Bambino's been on this forum longer than I have, we already know he's a good guy and I'm not interpreting his posts as being pro-kill-innocent-people in the same way I'm not interpreting yours or anyone else's posts defending Israel as pro-ethnic-cleansing-and-occupational-genocide.

I left your (and Bambino's) reports open regardless. We have a mod that actually grew up in Israel, I defer this whole thing to him usually as he's not only more knowledgeable, he's lived it.

Thank you!! Nobody wants to understand what I'm going through, and how hard this is on everyone involved, mainly Palestinians because Israel is going genocide the sh-t out of them over this.

No, I get you.

Palestinian people have been so affected by violence and pain brought on them for years. Of course extremism is born out of that pain. Innocent Israeli citizens are paying for that pain inflicted too.

The Israeli government is probably cackling right now 'cause this attack gives them all the justification they need to obliterate more people and escalate the conflict even further.

If there is a god, let it have mercy on the people caught in this.

Because slaughtering and looting from small businesses are the same thing...??

Weird comparison to make.

I did not compare both actions, I compared how you can support something good, even if some people in the group you support do bad things.

Not sure how him saying "Palestinians have the right to defend themselves" in response to the tragic incidents of today doesn't sound like an excuse or him trying to justify Hamas actions. Or generally just a very insensitive statement to make.

He said he meant Palestinians but not Hamas but factually Hamas are the ones who did this today. They did it on behalf of the Palestinians. So when things like this are being said, you can't really interpret it in any other way imo.

Agree to disagree then. Maybe I interpret it differently 'cause I'm familiar with him as a person.

What about him posting a status of "This is a very emotional day tbh" after a post about freeing Palestine. Does that feel to you something moral to say in related to a situation where 300 innocent civilians were slaughtered.

Or what about him saying that these "settlers were warned repeatedly about the situation in that area" which is basically him saying "they should've known better".

Or what about him saying that Israel is responsible for killing their own people but not one mention recognizing the responsibility of the actual terrorists who directly did it.

Looks to me like you are unfairly judging his comments based on irrelevant factors like the time he has been on GGD and you're neglecting how some members could be seriously affected by these sort of insensitive comments in this tragic day. I hope you could reconsider and think this through.

You interpreted it correctly but others want to paint everyone who doesn't share their exact thoughts as to whatever horrendous adjectives they want such as supporting the killing of civilians, when I repeatedly said it's wrong, but Palestinians come from a place of pain and suffering and with it comes extremism and if you find that hard to realize then maybe this thread isn't for you.

Where were all these sympathizers when Palestinians are killed daily in the West Bank? 2022 was the deadliest year for Palestinians killed by Israel, where were they when more settlement are built on Palestinian lands hence inciting more hate? Banning Palestinians from going to places of worship in Jerusalem and abusing women? The ****ing apartheid wall in the West Bank that shredded cities and villages and ate up more lands?

I'm sorry but I can't not make a comparison here. If occupation isn't the root of ANY argument about Palestinians, then y'all are fooling yourselves.

Apologizes for being emotional but til it happens to you, you don't know how it feels.

I numbered these so I'm clear to you :fail:

1. Hundreds of Palestinians were also killed today, and I still posted that statement, based on your interpretation, does that make me not feel for the Palestinians? It is an emotional day with all of its events and you may interpret that as you wish.

2. Oh I thought you guys were familiar with that excuse. See everytime Israel bomb Gaza, y'all shout 'you were told to leave your houses but you didn't,' so why do you claim it makes sense only when Palestinians are killed?

3. Israel is the occupier, the oppressor and the criminal in this context and all the other contexts. Facts are facts.

4. @PartySick is a respectful user who takes no sides when making moderation decisions so whatever you're plotting here is considered moderation discussion, which is also forbidden.

I'm not really going to discuss this further here tbh, you can report things if you feel they cross a line and the mod team will discuss it from the report center

I would only ask that you actually listen to what he's saying and try seeing things from a different perspective.

It's understandable :kara:

I'm very privileged to be having this discussion on the other side of the ocean from all this. We have our own problems in the US but I can't imagine not even having the guarantee of safety* or existence.

*And this goes for Israeli citizens as well. Everyone involved.

Iran is almost the only country that funds Hamas and support them. While almost all Muslim countries have always been anti Hamas. There is already alot of blame thrown at Iran.

Israel and Saudis biggest enemy is Iran

13 pages and only a few comments that shows sympathy to the innocent civilians who lost their lives and the ones who were kidnapped and no one knows where they are or if they’re still alive.

It just shows me that so many of you know so little about what happens here and the reality of Israeli citizens.

And yes, Israel is no saint but they never did what the Palestinians did today. NEVER. I think I will never be able to remove all of those horrific images and videos I saw today of dead Israeli young men and women, a young boy who were kidnapped and being slapped by Palestinians in Gaza, an old demented woman who were kidnapped from her home & the heartbreaking stories from my friends who were at that party and had to run away and hide while terrorists are shooting at them.

But I also learned a lesson today, on a Lady Gaga forum I should focus on Lady Gaga news, nothing else. Because this forum is full of ignorant people who hide behind the free Palestine movement and “human rights” while they’re far from really caring about human lives. They only care about their agenda and about what they think is the truth. one sided truth that erases the other side.

And what do I care about? I care about my grandparent who cannot run to the bomb shelter because my grandfather has 4th stage lungs cancer and he cannot walk so my grandma stays by him. I also care about my friends who are having a panic attack every time they hear a siren alerting about a rocket being fired to their city. And I also care about all the innocent people from both sides who are suffering from this war. And I hope that one day the killing and suffering  will end.

@Admin you should close this thread  because nothing good will come from this.

We're all praying and wishing the best for the innocent people caught in the crossfire. On both Israeli and Palestinian sides of this. It doesn't seem to be, but I hope that's enough for you on here.

I'm gonna assume emotions are too high and that you're not purposefully minimizing the atrocities that the Israeli government has enacted on Palestine because that's not going to make anyone more sympathetic about what is happening to the Israeli citizens like you want them to be.

We should be able to agree that, while there is no excuse for the brutality Hamas showed to innocent people, there is further nuance than one side being bad and one side being good. Like you said, one-sided truth erases the other side.
