Because they may not identify as a man. Like I said, gender identity is more like a spectrum like sexuality, it's not a binary thing.

The term transgender means "denoting or relating to a person whose gender identity does not correspond with the sex registered for them at birth." When people think of "transgender" people, they think of the binary: man to woman or woman to man, but as I've been saying, gender identity is not a binary thing. People who do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth are transgender. That could mean identifying as a man even though you were born a woman or it could mean identifying somewhere in the gender identity spectrum even though you were born a woman.

This will be unpopular but the more I read about gender and 'gender spectrum' the more confused I get. It all seems reliant on gender stereotypes and gender roles. 

I understand some people have gender dysphoria and they need to transition to relieve it but for everything else...I'll probably never fully understand it without thinking it's just regressive.

Well, gender is a social construct. Yeah, to an extent it all relies on gender stereotypes, but if it makes someone feel more affirming to identify within the gender spectrum as opposed to just “male” or “female”, who cares at the end of the day? It’s their gender identity and gender expression and the least people could do is be respectful of that.

EDIT: I did say SOME people but I should have nuanced myself more. I obviously didn't mean people transitioning from one sex to another, medical professionals all agree that gender affirming care is the way to go. I just mean the people that you see floating around online saying kids can choose wether they are a boy or a girl, and some people would raise children "genderneutral" with this in mind. He is talking about what is being taught in school after all.

I am from Hungary and I was really lucky to have a super passionate biology teacher (she was raised Catholic and was religious) she was super fascinated and in awe about the nuances of gender, sex, and sexuality. To her, it was a way of nature expressing itself in a beautiful way. We learned about all the different components that contribute to sexual characteristics and talked about if we acknowledged this and didn't pathologize people, it would raise many questions in society because of the way we are taught to live.

When there are topics like this, in public, spoken by educated world leaders you have to be cautious with what you are saying, these politicians target a really small percentage of the population who are already in a very vulnerable state, these people are sharing opinions but the variety of sex, sexuality, gender is not an opinion or up for a debate, this is a scientific fact and a fundamental fact of our reality. These politician's goals are to scapegoat and point fingers at vulnerable people, immigrants, underprivileged communities, LGBTQ+, and different racial groups (yes even tho he is brown) because their existence and their lack of opportunities and privileges highlight the fact that the world we live in is highly imbalanced in power and resources. This is threatening to their wealth and over all well being because they don't want to deal with it, more so this imbalance benefits them. This is no more than a show to demonize a group of people who want to live according to their truth and innate freedom that comes from our own existence on this planet. The world is literally about to collapse, agriculture is contributing to our mass extinction in such a huge percentage and there are so many vague promises about going carbon neutral in 60 years from now on, its all bullshit. The big corporations that benefit from the exploitation of the earth have so much money that they can literally control any narrative just so that they can maintain their wealth.

Schools are still teaching you to be an ordinary worker, there should be classes, conversations with the new generation about whats really to come and how we can prepare to contribute to a better world.

There is no education on the psyche, on ourselves, on how to connect with eachother, to learn empathy, self regulations, boundaries, no outlook on what are the ways we as individuals can contribute to the world through physics, art, human relations, science. There are families living in poverty and distress. All of these are contributing to some really dark times ahead.

So yeah, **** this person and all the politicians fighting and killing millions of people over wealth and power.

It’s yet another pathetic and desperate attempt to appeal to the GB News crowd, Laurence Fox, Farage types out there, they know they’re going to get annihilated at the next election, we all haven’t forgotten the governments contempt during COVID, the massive PPE contracts that they awarded to friends that didn’t even have companies to provide PPE and they wrote off this debt thinking we wouldn’t care and also what that lunatic Truss did to the economy last year (amongst many other things, I could go on) making cost of living a nightmare for all. They also have ostracised the north even more by stopping HS2 to save money, what happened to all the billions in contracts given to friends? Corruption is widespread and the sooner we have an election the better. They need to get out asap! 
 

The polls have been consistent for a year now, thankfully, it’s not looking good for the Tories, let’s hope it stays that way!
