Teletubby 137,332
Katy Perry has been blasted for 'attacking and tricking the weak' by the family of the dying veteran she is suing for $2.6 million in property dispute. The singer has been locked in a three-year legal battle with 84-year-old Carl Westcott over a sprawling $15million home in Santa Barbara - and his son has now landed in LA to fight in court. In July 2020, Carl Westcottt signed a real estate contract to sell his home to Katy claiming he was under the influence of opioids and painkillers following major back surgery. When the effects of the painkillers wore off days later, the 'American hero' - who suffers from Huntington's Disease - claimed he realized what he had signed away and rescinded the contract. Westcott's son Court, along with wife Kameron of Real Housewives of Dallas fame, has now hit out at Perry for her involvement, adding: 'We're fighting for his honor.' Court revealed that Westcott, who he claims has been bedridden for over a year, 'doesn't want to spend the last few years of his life fighting Katy and Orlando.' Refencing Perry's 2015 battle with elderly Roman Catholic nuns over the sale of a Los Angeles convent, Kameron added: 'Katy and Orlando have done this before - they sued the nuns. This is a pattern, they attack the weak. During the 2018 legal battle, Sister Holzman, 89, collapsed and died during a court appearance. Perry and Bloom are not only fighting to finally get their hands on dementia sufferer Westcott's palatial, eight-bed residence. The Firework singer wants a further $2,669,682 to cover the cost of maintaining a different home while she waits to move in. The vast sum includes $1,428,571 in rent, $325,111 in mortgage interest, $343,759 in property taxes, $145,407 for gardening and $8,919 for 'research – cable and internet.' Perry's demands have stunned Westcott's lawyers who say she never mentioned anything previously about renting a 'substitute' $75,000-per-month property and has admitted she owns three other homes in Santa Barbara. source

IllusionLover 6,501
I see all of this as the family of the man just being money hungry because he sold the house to a superstar. I wonder what the case would be if he had sold the house to some other random millionaire. 13 | this is my dancefloor i fought for, your voice is louder, it echoes

PartySick 146,612
I have a hard time having sympathy for any of these rich people He signed the contract, it's her house now. Move out she's right to sue tbh but idk about trying to get all that extra. $75,000 a month rental? When you own three other houses in the area? All these people can go to hell

There are multiple people involved before you can sell a house. This old man isnt some poor guy who got swindled. It isnt like you just press a button and it is out in the market. Surely the family of the old man wanted the inheritance and since housing prices increased significantly within the last 2 years, the price of the house must have increased a lot. So the 300k houses here in California are going for 400-500k now. I can only imagine for a multimillion dollar mansion. 💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕
