But where did she say this?

Like the profile pic doesn't match, that's not her profile pic, I'm so confused.

Edit: oh, nvm, I see that the person who posted this is saying that this is apparently Roisin's personal Facebook account. Although the posts in this Facebook profile look very intimate and seem to indicate that this is indeed a personal account, I don't think it is appropriate to believe something like this coming from a non official source. It's not even a post from her, it's a comment she supposedly made on someone else's video. It's all very shady in my opinion... we'll never know, I guess.

I dont understand the argument that it’s between you and your doctor. If thats the case, why not allow doctors to do whatever they want as it’s between you and your doctor? It’s because doctors are humans and we need to create laws to not allow them to do harmful things.

It means let the medical experts run medical inquiries. Let them physically analyze you and treat you based on hard data points and peer reviewed and industry approved treatment plans.

Puberty blockers are simply not harmful - so idk why you’re bringing up “harmful things.”

Why does this concept work for cancer patients but not trans patients?? The cognitive dissonance…

I agree with you if you are talking about scientific medical consensus, but not to leave it between an individual Doctor and their patient.

Puberty blocker is proven to cause infertility and and some other side effects. This doesnt mean im against it, as I said im still not sure about it. But there should atleast be a law that makes sure kids and parents know infertility is a side effect. Why even deny this fact is my issue..

Cancer patient die in a matter of months, its different from gender dysphoria.

some of you are so annoying, saying stuff like '' i cant support the trans movmeent'' ok and? what now?

we don't care about your cis opinions that much, we will still transition, teengers will still transition with the help of their parents or not.

Some will k*ll themselves if they don't take those damn blockers, its a fact but go off with your ''I care about their genitals and future orgams'' we do not care about sex as much as you do, we only care about surviving in this cis-centered world.

There’s no way to pause puberty if you miss the window you will never go through puberty as your biological sex

That isn’t true. There has been a great deal of research done on this subject and every single thing a puberty blocker does is reversible as long as it is begun before puberty is completed, which does not happen when a minor. Everything you’re asserting is not backed up by science. In fact, science has shown the exact opposite of what you’re asserting. Please get educated before spouting nonsense.

This issue is a storm in a teacup. I did some reading on several health websites and most of them came to this conclusion: puberty blockers have been used to temporarily pause puberty since the 1980s and have mostly been safe. What’s not fully understood is the effects of long term use. More research is needed.

What I don’t understand is why American need to politicize this. Leave it to the medical professionals.

And now progressive Finland and neighboring Sweden are taking precautionary approach with this drug.

Interesting. :oprah:

I remember talking with you and we had an interesting respectful discussion, and I learned alot from it. Do you support puberty blockers before puberty? and whats ur opinion on its side effect like infertility? Id like to know your opinion on it..

how is it her on FB ??? it's not the same profile pic. I think it's a fake.

edit : i'm not defending her at all. I just need a receipt and then if she's proven guilty I think we should politely forget this person.

To people arguing with transphobes in this thread, or any thread really:

It's really not worth it... because the reason queer people fall for transphobia is not a compelling argument, it's because being part of a righteous mob feels good.

That's why no matter how many studies and opinions of medical experts and testimonies of trans people you shove in their face, they won't budge. It's not about reason, it's not about 'the right thing', it's about a feeling of power you get from joining a movement of backlash.

I used to be kind of perplexed by how so many queer people (gay men especially) fall for it, because almost every anti-trans argument has been leveled against gay people in the past - they are sometimes literally word for word the same arguments - how can you not recognize telltale signs of bigotry when you've seen or been on the receiving end of it for so long?

But I think it actually makes sense that transphobia exists in gay spaces when you're looking at it from that lens - when you've been bullied by society for so long, it feels good to be finally in with bullies - it makes you feel like you've connected with people who used to vehemently reject you. Of course, that's an illusion, the moment bigots succeed in reversing trans rights, you'll be next, but again, reason is not at play here, emotion is.

Men are naturally more dominating, aggressive, and logical thinking because we have balls.

It definitely makes her transphobic though.

Saying trans kids should be denied care is transphobic and ignorant when there's a near unanimous consensus in the medical world that these kids deserve care.

And the <2% of kids that decide the care wasn't right for them can easily just stop taking blockers and go through puberty as normal, just a little later.

She's also playing into the "they're grooming kids! Let kids be kids!" bullsh*t the right is spreading these days.

Did you know puberty blockers are the same drug they give rapists to castrate them in prison? Fun fact

Did you know people with low blood potassium are given the same medication as prisoners exectued via lethal injection?
Did you know people with insomnia can be treated with the same medication used in lethal injections?
Did you know if you've ever been under general anesthesia for a procedure you've been given the same medication used in lethal injections?
Did you know that a chemical which was used in the first world war for chemical warfare and is banned under international treaties is also used for chemo?

It's almost like medications can have multiple uses depending on dosage and state of matter!

I think GGD should ban every transphobic person out here, I don't think this site is safe for trans people mental health. I stopped using it for some time bc of it.

Its so sad that everytime a trans thread is made, people feel the need to post misinformation or weird facts to make trans people feel bad about themselves.

bc thats what you all are doing, you think doctors and parents care about your opinions? they're not even on here reading your ignorant replies, but theres trans people like me reading crap like this:

I can only talk about me.

I don't care about infertility, I only care about living my life as the gender I've always been since I was a kid, I wish I had blockers when I was 12.
