Okay but the elephant in the room is much like Tumblr. Twitter also had explicit content. These are both unspoken HUGE draws in why people use the platforms. Just look at the amount of followers an adult content crater has vs a lower level celebrity. I highly doubt Meta will allow any content of the sort, so that will still make it a platform less are likely to adapt as a replacement for Twitter. At most maybe a fun addition to Insta in the way reels are their way to compete with TikTok

That's a really good point.  I don't know how people interact with p*rn in their regular accounts, though.  Twitter notifies your other followers what you do, and it's kind of gross to be bringing that into conversations about politics and music.

I keep saying to people that all Meta does is ****ing steal every other function of every social media that is popular at the time, constantly trying to corner every single market, instead of just focussing on what their app does well and improving the user experience to make it great. They ignore everything their users actually want and just keep doubling the ads. Makes me sick

The only thing Instagram is good for anymore is stories. End of list

this is actually kinda sad to think about. the "need" for p*rn is so strong that p*rnsites aren't cutting it and now it has to be included in regular social media

i miss when social media was actually about staying in contact and expressing yourself online...

I meeeaaaannnnnn personally it's not about the need for p*rn; it's the ability to curate what you want to see. Same with tumblr. You don't have to go to the trouble of searching specifically every time you're looking for it. I'm too picky for all that. You can follow a couple individual performers you enjoy and then let it ride 💅🏽

You can still use your social media to express yourself and stay in contact.

sexuality is expression though; but also the internet as an entity is basically founded on ****ography so naturally it’ll always come back to that. It’s less about a need for **** specifically as their is a need for free, convenient sexual expression.
