This Supreme Court has gone completely rogue.

But let it be a warning for those who think sitting out and not vote in 2024 is an option

Between this, Roe v Wade, and affirmative action, we're going back like 100 years. Christ...

Also might as well rename this thread to Supreme Court legalizes discrimination against LGBTQ+ customers because that's what it really is for those who didn't read the case yet :bradley:

And establishes a pretext for businesses discriminating against people on the basis of gender identity, race, religion etc.

Why would a gay couple even want to give money to Christian owned businesses like this?

choose an LGBTQ owned business.

this ruling is wrong, regardless.

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

You could extrapolate that to pretty much any sort of business though. Every major corporate business has unethical issues and problems and you give your money to them every day. The problem is that this can set a precedent for discriminating against people based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. That's like saying "What's the problem with discriminating against someone because of their race? Just go somewhere else then".

Yeah, I think there’s a pretty obvious solution here.  Find a LGBTQ-owned company and put your money where it matters.

that being said- I’d love to see the government shut down businesses that discriminate.

The gag is: this was a preemptive suit. No gay couple actually asked her to do it, she just filed a suit based on the hypothetical possibility that she *might* be asked to do that.

Yes. Allowing businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people sets the pretext for social, political, and cultural segregation and perpetuates the idea that queer people can be treated as second class citizens.
