Nirvana 2,697
There's a criminal investigation against Till in Germany, but no charges raised against him yet... nothing else has been heard of it just yet (https://www.tagesspiegel.de/berlin/vorwurfe-gegen-rammstein-berliner-staatsanwaltschaft-ermittelt-gegen-sanger-till-lindemann-9983014.html I just don't see them changing a lead singer, rather a break up than that. I would be ok with them doing it but somehow just don't see them doing it. Even though Schneider did mention that he has distanced himself from the rest of the band for years, idk. But what we can gather from this is definitely we need a MeToo in music industry as well... And some common sense in fans. You can be a fan and also realize said musician might be a horrible person... I'm really disappointed in the Rammstein fans on reddit and other places victim blaming and arguing about consent... It's been too much, and I have tried to not follow this case as much.

And If things get heaten up for Till, there's no reason for the other five band members to take the plunge for him. Rammstein will stay. With or without Till. But some change will happen obviously. From R+ Christoph Schneider statement : [...] All I heard from Till's parties were adults celebrating together. And yet things seem to have happened that, although legally ok, I personally don't think are ok. Certain structures have grown that went beyond the limits and values of the other band members. It is also important to us that Till's parties are not confused with our official after-show parties. Till has distanced himself from us in recent years and created his own bubble. With their own people, their own parties, their own projects. That made me sad, definitely. Teletubby 137,516
Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann is taking legal action against the initiators of the petition "No stage for Rammstein." The campaign demands that three Rammstein concerts scheduled for mid-July in Berlin be canceled due to current allegations of sexual assault against the singer. The petition, which has collected more than 70,000 signatures, states: "Rammstein singer Till Lindemann is said to have sexually abused young women at concerts in a serial and systematic way," and concludes with the words: "The Rammstein concerts must be canceled! Berlin must not become a place for sexual abuse! We do not celebrate perpetrators!" Lindemann's lawyers argue that such formulations "disseminate untrue and defamatory allegations." The law firm which represents Till Lindemann, has sent a cease-and-desist order to Campact, the German website hosting the petition. The lawyers are asking Campact to refrain from using certain formulations in the petition. But the campaign platform has stated that it will not sign the declaration. "We stand behind the initiator of the petition and support her demands," writes Campact's managing director, in statement under the petition. "We consider it our duty to support the courageous people who have spoken out publicly about the incidents at Rammstein concerts and are demanding consequences," Kolb adds. "This also includes not being forbidden to use clear words." https://www.dw.com/en/rammstein-singer-takes-action-against-petition-calling-for-concert-cancellation/a-66185835

Nirvana 2,697
Very disappointing, but somehow I knew this might happen as sexual assault is very hard to prove and the women did not want to testify which I do get, it's difficult even in usual circumstances... The story about the 15 year old fan is disgusting and gross as well, even if that's somehow legal in Germany. I don't know how so many fans are on his side, when there's so much to this case. Not just Shelby, but many other women as well... But now he's legally clear, but who knows if the case might be reopened if new evidence comes. I was a huge fan, now I cannot think about listening to them (even if I'm one for separating art from the artist). I guess I could but it would not give the same feeling I used to have from it. This has left bitter taste, not just what he might have done or has done, but the fans on reddit and elsewhere... Be lucky if you did not follow the discussion there. The victim blaming was insane, still is.

The victim blaming was insane, still is. I read you well. A sensitive and intelligent post. Who knows where's the heaviest weight in the balance besides the fans and gp opinion ? Cause many forces and interests are at stake to protect the Golden Goose and it's so easy to dismiss testimonies of teenagers who want to stay anonymous. As a kid I endured victim blaming for years. I don't give credit to helicopter parenting either. But when theres no trust or dialog with your close relatives or friends, and all that you hear is 'you brought this on yourself' it's really bad and might turn you in a paranoid or vindicative bullie. This R+ stuff will backfire. Mmw. Late to the party but I got a diamond heart
