It is becoming the norm, but there’s still certain groups of people (Especially men) that still shame people for waiting to bring a child in their lives. The societal pressure is still put on woman even if the evidence points to there being no specific right time to conceive a child, if they even want one in the first place.

Sure I agree there's always a few critics but ur comment made it sound like so many ppl are gonna judge a woman at 40 for wanting a kid and almost no one will criticize a man over 80. I guarantee you will more people will criticize a man for becoming a father at 80 than at woman at 40 (and as they should tbh)

If u were talking about a man at 40 and woman at 40 both the same age I can see mysoginistic bias that still lingers making a few more ppl judge a woman

But I seriously doubt a greater number of ppl would shame a woman at 40 than a man at 80

It's not 1980 anymore. The majority of ppl are done having their kids early. Ppl wait to have more stability first. There's always a few, but increasingly that's not the norm anymore

I genuinely cannot fathom why a man of this age wants a child. How long can he possibly hope to live in order to enjoy years with that child? And he may go into physical decline while his child is very young and therefore, the child will suffer with having memories of their dad being in poor health in their formative years and they may not have the happiest childhood as a result. And as for the woman? If she wants a child and stability for that child, having one with a man your own age is the best possible route, providing the best hopes for him being young and healthy enough to stick around to help with parenthood. If you want a child at an older age that badly, adopt an older child. Past a certain age, you should just make peace with the fact that having biological children is just not meant to be. There's a reason why women go through menopause and men's sperm quality decreases with age - nature is trying to tell us something. Pacino already has 3 children as it is. He has already experienced fatherhood, why does he need to do it for a fourth time in his twilight years? And he can't possibly think a 29 year old is with him for love and if it's not love, why make a child out of it?

I don't think this was planned. Apparently, he even made her take some kind of DNA test because he didn't believe his sperm could create a child at his age.

I guess the alternative is abortion, but she must've decided she wants to have the baby, which is her choice. I don't get the sense that Al Pacino wanted this though.

Seriously? If that is true, all the more reason why old rich men should be very wary of young women wanting to be with them, particularly if they are vocal about wanting children. Too many men are blinded by a pretty face and don't see the obvious red flags. It's much rarer for a young man to get with a much older rich woman because the man can't have a baby in which to gain child support from upon a split and women are much more realistic about how her wealth makes her an easy target for grifters and prefer to seek out men in her age range as they're more likely to be the real deal. Men need to get smarter about this stuff. There's no fool like an old fool, as the saying goes.
