this. I've been thinking about this also and feel like we all kind of became so uptight that it's no wonder it is backfiring. I get it that for communities it is important to celebrate safe spaces and nurture them and show that diversity is the answer and me as someone who is white needs to be aware of these dynamics but at the same time when this discussion has kind of hit the mainstream it also created such an enormous opponent that is claimed by the right wing and conservatives that I'm afraid they will ultimately take away all the rights we've achieved over these years because the division just keeps going and going by that means. I think what can be done is that we need less nitpicking and more letting lose (listen to Let Loose by Loosey Laduca on your streaming service). This sounds silly but the more fun it is for people to come in contact with each other the more people will likely be on that boat instead of the other that is only trying to keep everything black and white

See this is EXACTLY the point and why they are the same. When you say ‘overly sensitive’ what you are REALLY saying is that CNN creates false narratives and drama for the sake of keeping the country divided and to attract ratings. CNN and FOX (among other divisive ‘news’ outlets), can only exist when they create common enemies among their bases. Media, and a stupid society that refuses to learn about issues on their own, are the real problem.
