No I meant it's funny cuz it came off as if those who asked the question probably think they can sneakily share passwords without Netflix knowing. A combination of IP address, different device IDs being used simultaneously could give away the fact that we're sharing passwords unfortunately. The main device ID could be marked as the one used to enter billing information.

Using IP addresses is not something I see them doing, especially since many ISPs have dynamic IP addresses which change frequently. Additionally, what about the people who use multiple devices in different locations? (Like a TV or computer only in a home / office space that is not their primary residence). That said, identifying the device ID and limiting it to like 3 total is probably the route they will go.

IP addresses.

Price gouging? I think some people don't understand how expensive it is to develop original content. Everyone used to pay $100+ a month to watch tv while 1/3 of the content aired was ads. Sure it's gotten more expensive, but at the same time Netflix has its hands in several industries that are costly to compete in in the first place. They do pretty well to keep the service up and add features, requiring software developers, engineers, and servers to do so. They're paying for the content creation when they used to be able to license it and call it a day. Any other company would have made this a priority much sooner. Disney+ launched with password sharing being one of their primary concerns. Netflix has stuck pretty close to its core, which is release shows a whole season at once and cancel anytime.

Yeah. No. Constant growth is abusive. It means there is no ceiling to profit. They must always make more money than before, will always find new ways to get more money from customers. Enjoy paying your premiums and licking boots.

"if the service detects your account being used in a location other than your own. The two-week limit allows you to log into your account on other TV’s while on vacation, but if you’re away any longer, you’ll have to either pay up or declare the new location as your primary residence.

However, there is one sort of loophole: For now, using Netflix on various mobile devices like laptops and smartphones will not be counted as an additional charge no matter how long you use it, so go ahead and fire up that AirPlay, baby."

Netflix is netting .7% of the $7.85 billion it brings in. Let's not act like it's just swimming in cash. Don't really know what's so edgy about the term "licking boots" because I understand how life works. Netflix upended an entire industry and is largely responsible for streaming technology. It dismantled tv packages and has made it possible for people to choose what networks they want content from without paying $100 a month for a bloated package most don't care about while being locked into it for years at a time. I can not be happy about price increases for a COMMODITY while recognizing that they have risked a lot and changed a lot for the better too without calling it capitalist greed. If you're so unhappy with Netflix, maybe you should sign up for Dish TV, spend 20 minutes every hour watching ads, make sure you either watch a show live or DVR, and share your satellite signal with your friends. Oh wait.
