Oh I like this. Are they releasing a new album? A reissue with more songs?

Not sure tbh

Think this is just something they've been working on while touring

Saaaame!!! I need them to release a banger that captures their identity but with an exciting twist. Added the song to my library because i love the sound, but melody and structure were rather dissapointing so i deleted it again

I mean not every group is for everyone tbf.

Personally, I don't get the everything sounds the same vibe. Like this song sounds nothing like Sophie/Scantily Clad/Freaks to me for example. It does share similarities with some other tracks but I find it cohesive rather than samey.

Exactly. The songs do not sound the same. They have different melodies, choruses, etc. they share an 80s pop sound, but the songs themselves are completely different. People like songs or they don’t but they don’t sound the same.

I genuinely don’t understand what’s wrong with debuting artists staying true to their sound. If anything, it’s a smart move to let people get to know your brand and identity before changing things up.

H&F didn’t blow up on the same scale Gaga did with her debut, so changing their sound and identity this early could actually work against them. People might either lose interest or start seeing them as inconsistent. They’re making ’80s synth-pop, and this is what a lot of pop music from that era sounded like. Saying it all sounds “the same” honestly just shows a lack of understanding of the genre and its conventions.

It’s like saying all pop songs from the 2010s sound the same and using Applause and Dark Horse as examples simply because they’re both electronic pop. Obviously, there are similarities within a genre, but that doesn’t mean the songs lack their own identity.

Artists can never do it right. MAYHEM is too chaotic and all over the place to some, while H&F being consistent in their sound is too boring for others.

Idk I feel like I did my due diligence by taking the time to listen to most of their released discography. I get having a signature sound but the vibe I get from them is 80s synth pop filler. Like I think the potential is there and I love their aesthetic but it's kinda hard to have a stand out when it all sounds the same.

I don't think the 2010s are comparable because literally every year had a different vibe.

I do kinda see where you're coming from though because I had a friend tell me that all of Billie Eilish's music sounds "gray" to them and I looked at them like they had two heads so 🤷🏽‍♂️

Honestly it just comes down to vibes 90% of the time with this type of thing.

You either vibe with it or you don't.
