I saw many Youtube shorts, tweets etc about Desperate Housewives lately and it seems many look back at this show with nostalgia. And now rewatching bits and pieces I remembered how great all seasons were, the plotlines, the humour, the characters etc.  I wish I could rewatch it for the first time.

My favorite scenes:

Have your watched the show, if so what is your opinion of it? What are your favorite scenes, episodes or characters? :vegas:

Chandler Bing

I watched it as a kid and I find it interesting how I view some characters differently now. I loved Gabrielle, of course :vegas:

I rewatched some episodes awhile ago and I love Bree ❤️

One of the final scenes where the camera goes through the Wisteria Lane and they view the characters that died still brings tears to my eyes.

She has always been the funniest, but the show also made at good job at humanizing her and making her likeable especially by the end.  And the plotline with her father abusing her certainly put a lot of her behaviour in context, her being vapid, drawn to escapism and the rich lifestyle etc. I love how all characters are built in a complex way and are not just one sided caricatures, like how Bree is shown as stiff and obsessed with what others thinks, but also as a perfectionist who is insecure and threfore controlling. Or how Edie is stlutty but also deep down just craving love and validation from men (probably due to trauma like Gabby).

Also the chemistry with Carlos is very unique and makes me wish I had something as special :bradley:

That about Edie reminds me a lot about the gay dating life... Ugh, sad that shows nowadays don't make time to create such depth. They're just brief episodes on few seasons that don't allow that much growth and development

Zeitgeist

that scene where Edie talked about how she knew that she will die young has always stuck with me

I need to watch it! I remember the ads running and knowing it was for me, but I still lived with my parents and would always turn it off.

This was probably one of the first series I ever watched. It started when I was 14 and therefore wasn't exactly the most appropriate show for me to watch at the time and I would watch it on the tv in my room and as I knew my parents watched it, I'd be safe from them catching me upstairs. Then when the computer game came out, I was about 16 or so and was able to ask for it for Christmas without it seeming too weird (and that game was laborious to play because it took forever to walk anywhere but was so much fun other than that). But quite honestly, I never watched the final season and still don't know how it all ended! I just can't remember why I didn't, it wasn't that I'd grown bored of it or it switched channels to one we didn't have but I think there was a sense of I knew its peak had passed and it was time to move on. I'll always treasure those old memories, though.

I’ve watched it start to finish like 8 times! It’s always been my favourite show… it annoys me that season 4 isn’t as long as it should have been because of the writers strike in 2008. I still can’t decide who was the best character in the main cast, for me it was about the supporting character (Karen & Angie were perfection!) I think it time to start it again!

Scare them first, so they can’t scare you...

I also grew up with this show, I think my favorite characters were Bree and Lynette, but poor woman went through a lot (a tornado, cancer, a mall shooting, a cheating husband, like 5 kids and that demon from Tom's cheating :toofunny:). I specially remember the scene when she had a dream about the last time she saw Mary Alice and how she'd do things different even if she couldn't save her anyway.

The show had the perfect balance of drama, mystery, humor and lovable characters.

Oh yes and I blame my homosexuality on this:

It is one of my all time favourite shows. Loved all Seasons and Bree is my favourite alongside Felicia Tillman !

It started at the same time as Grey’s Anatomy and I will never understand how that show is still in production and DH ended 11 Years ago !!!
