It's not an opinion, babes. It's fact.

I find it alarming how many people think that they have to fall in line or shut up about certain topics because someone with "authority" said so. Or that having an opinion on whether or not someone can gatekeep squatting and moving your hands rhythmically is problematic :awkney:

Some of you need to get out of your bubble now and then and take a break from your social algorithms :alsemanche:

I’m a 45 year old gay man from NYC. I grew up going to balls and drag shows. Love them both.
I respect your opinion and I leave it at that. Is sad to see the community trying to tear apart the LGBTQ+ shows and contestants.
imagine (Aja and Leiomy) trying to come for a drag Queen of color for appropriation for vogue when we have republicans trying to ban drag.
I wish you the best and we can agree to disagree.

Why are so many members of marginalized communities so unaware of when they do damage to themselves? The comments made here are why the alt-right says stuff like "the left just wants to create problems".

Leiomy is a miserable individual. Loved her on Legendary so I followed her on twitter and she is always complaining about something or someone. She is also rude to her fans. Glad Legendary got cancelled

I really feel like culture in America has become whack af. Like...no one can do anything anymore without someone saying it's wrong or morally bankrupt or appropriating something.

It's weird to spend so much time telling people to not do something that they obviously enjoy doing and are just trying to make people happy.

And I'm gonna be honest....90% of the rest of the world outside of the U.S. doesn't give a **** about "appropriation". My friends that are POC from other countries think American-born POC are lame for complaining about this too much and there is actually a big in-fighting about that that white people don't even know about. Like....not all black people wanna tell white people the same things. Some black people want white people to participate more in their culture because they believe it will give POC more power once white people are exposed to their culture.

My best friends are from Haiti and they think the social justice warriors on the internet complaining about white people doing dreds, wanting to dance in certain ways, etc is actually reversing progress for black people. (These are not my words, these are theirs.)

I think we should listen to concerns from all races and not profit off of it. And I think people should be respectful to cultures and give them flowers. HOWEVER....we HAVE kinda taken the whole thing with cancel culture/appropriation/correct speech thing a little too far and it does at times feel like it is an endless battle with no real peace or result in site.

I just think dissing people who do not come from a culture for liking something from another culture and innocently wanting to participate in it because they think it is a positive/joyful/beautiful thing is ironically really patriarchal and pushing the whole "we own this, you don't" back off logic that started alot of race/slave/capitalist problems to begin with.

Just let people be ****ing happy. And this is ridiculous, too. It's a dance move. It's a literal dance move. A skin color or a group of people do not own a dance move. No one "owns" a body movement. If your body wants to move in a certain way...it's your ****ing body. And I'd like to add that all these drag queens were not born knowing how to vogue. Nogueing is not a thing. I've been to balls. Most of it is made up on the spot. The entire premise is supposed to be about liberation...not control.
