LadBaby take early lead with Food Aid in the race for the most important Number 1 of the year – the coveted Official Christmas Number 1 2022.

Festive title holders Mark and Roxanne Hoyle have this year joined forces with money-saving expert Martin Lewis for Food Aid, to raise money for food bank charity The Trussell Trust and the Band Aid foundation. The highest entry of the week after 38 hours, Food Aid has so far racked up 27,000 chart sales , predominantly driven by pre-orders and downloads, putting them 16,000 units ahead of the nearest competition on Official Chart First Look.

Funny that they release these charity songs but politically support the Conservative government that has put the United Kingdom in that exact dire position.

People who support the Conservatives aren't inherently evil and it doesn't erase any good that they do. The world isn't so black and white and I really don't want UK politics to go the way of the US where both sides are pushed to the extremes and vehemently hate each other.

They’re evil people that use charity for an ego boost and status.  I seriously hope they fail this year :madge:

This might’ve held some weight a few years ago, although that person is still probably a bad person.  Now if anyone supports them I will assume they’re a selfish, evil b*stard :vegas:

I understand and agree with your latter point, I’d hate for our politics to become like the US but we can’t not be against evil when it’s present in our politics because we don’t want to speak ill of people.

Well I'd argue it effectively was, that line of reasoning suggests if LadBaby are responsible for food banks existing through voting for the Conservative government then anyone who voted for Labour in the early 2000s is responsible for any wars they helped start. I don't think that's fair and I hate this discourse that exists online to solely paint people's political ideals as the be all and end all. They're not evil people because they voted Conservative, I've grown up in the UK in a diverse and multicultural city and I've got many friends from many walks of life and I love them all. I've got best friends who lean Conservative and the fact they'd be strung up online as evil people is quite bullshit if you ask me. Acting like the major left political parties are angels is quite frankly ignorance at its finest.

I truly wish it was as easy as one side being evil and one side being good but it's not and if we pretend it is then I fear we are destined to end up like the US. I feel like it's all to easy to forget that people suffer under a left government too, neither side is perfect. And I feel like statements that reduce someone to good or evil because of their political views takes any nuance out of the conversation and ultimately doesn't allow for a world where we can coexist in harmony with people who share different views. At some point you have to accept we live on a planet with people who see differently than we do within reason of course.

This is the key phrase that makes "coexisting" with conservatives impossible :bear:

I’d totally agree but we’re talking about a political party that has absorbed the UK Independence Party and the British National Party.  This isn’t an argument about a centre left or a centre right party. This is a party brimming with racists and panders to the absolute worst people in the country whilst robbing us blind.

I really don’t care to be civil to people who bring such misery to other people’s lives.
