Kim Petras in talks with Sam Smith for Unholy follow up

Kim topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic and landed a Grammy nomination for her mammoth hit Unholy with Sam Smith and now wants a sequel.

“I definitely am talking to Sam right now about having a song on my album that’s coming up.

“I would just love to keep collaborating because it’s really rare that you find artists that you’re on the same page with, who you write well with and who you want to be in the studio with.

“I really feel like we were meant to meet and we just have such a connection - like lost sisters from a past life. The song has been such a blessing which has brought me so much joy.

“I hear it at McDonald’s and every Uber I get into, it’s so wild.”

After spending so much time in London working with Sam, German Kim, is eyeing up a move to the UK.
“I’ve been thinking about getting a place in London. I’ve really fallen in love with it. I’ve found the pubs that I like and Sam has shown me a bunch of places.
“After spending some time here, it’s such an amazing city and Paris and home is so close. I kind of miss Europe. I’d love to have a home in London.”

Kim's debut album is almost complete and is due out next year.
”There’s too many songs, honestly. I was in the studio every day pretty much for the past month, just flying around and recording.
I have so many songs and I feel kind of exhausted from writing at this point. I am overwhelmed just thinking about it.”

this one is major-label debut studio album. all those that she has done before were just a warm-up.

They (Sam and Kim) probably didn't expect Unholy to be this massive hit so of course they'd want to work on something again to follow the hype. It's actually a nice idea but trying to go for a 2.0 version is very hard and rarely works. JLo+Pitbull or Sia+Guetta are examples of it. It could work but Tik Tok is like 80% the reason it blew up like that.

Clarity is an amazing album idk why she and everyone acts like it isn’t an album 

unholy was an awful song imo . Tbh I don’t really like Sam smith so Kim is better being a MPG on her own imo

this is common when artists sign with a major label that their first album with them is called debut.
