Imo second option very rarely leads you to to despair since it's fulfilling  af while the first one... Well if you chose it no but that makes you lonely automatically in a way so it can get real hard if you're not built for it.

I hate feeling lonely. One of the reasons i hate college is just because of how lonely i am here
