British lawmakers will try to oust Prime Minister Liz Truss this week despite Downing Street's warning that it could trigger a general election, the Daily Mail reported.

More than 100 members of parliament (MPs) belonging to the governing Conservative Party are ready to submit letters of no confidence in Truss to Graham Brady, the head of the Conservative Party's committee which organises the leadership contest, the tabloid reported, quoting unnamed sources.

Hopefully they'll have a general election asap.

She would be the shortest lived PM. The record was around 110 days I believe and she arrived not even 2 months ago.

Me thinks y’all are just gonna put a fifth consecutive conservative PM in power.

The UK government is so different than the USA, currently trying to understand it all on Wikipedia. How did I not know that the people don't elect a PM? It's all so new to me.

we do but only during general elections

during those 4 years between the next election, the party is free to elect a new PM amongst themselves if a lot of them are unhappy with how the PM is performing

mother, what must i do?

Prime Ministers are different to Presidents, PM is the head of the elected government whilst the President is the head of state
