I agree with that and that’s ok. But also I think the she always have in her mind like “ok, I’m gonna work on something and I’m gonna do my ****ing best and deliver a really good quality ****” and no one can deny it. 
She may not be the best performer but she’s like one of those artists who you can just comfortably expect them to release a really good album - because she will, including the considered bad ones

Well i mean I’d kinda feel the same if you’re expected to do so much, not to mention she’s had 3 new albums since 2020 and 2 re-recordings. that’s a lot of work. I’d wanna for sure be compensated for that as well

Pretty much. she doesn’t have a single bad album. Even lover is still miles above some artists (songs like cruel summer, soon you’ll get better, afterglow, the archer, miss Americana, and lover def show this)

But think about it? Is it actually a bad thing to want awards and to not perform and give viewership to something that doesn’t appreciate or reward your work. I can see this happening and I see nothing wrong there? What’s wrong is people awarding her ONLY to get her to perform but her not performing if she’s not winning anything is a fair game IMO. At the end of the day as an artist it is extremely important for your work to be recognised and appreciated by these kinds of committees. I see this as campaigning for award. And before y’all come for me claiming I’m a swiftie, I truly don’t care for Taylor that much. I’d like for Gaga to do this honestly.

I mean, all A list artists make more more than the amount of work they do. I don't feel sorry at all for them

 

But I'm not hating either. If ur successful good for u for making it. Tho it's still a lil messed up a system allows some individuals to have so much regardless of how good their work is

I just find it that it's a way of using ur star power to strongly pressure the academy to give u the award and potentially stealing it from someone else who could have gotten it if she didn't do that because of course the academy wants big names to perform

 

She's not doing anything illegal but I do find it low-key in very poor taste (assuming it's true)

 

Performing is about promo and exposure and awards more about recognition. It's fine not to do the performing if u don't feel like it but don't use it as a way to extort an award...

honestly, the way i interpreted it was that gaga demanded a lifetime achievement award, and that year they were trying to phase out the vanguard (because of the negative association with MJ), so they made one up for her.
