It went viral on tik tok if I'm not wrong, so yeah. Biggest hits since IASF it's a little too much but who knows.

I hope Gaga has finally understood the power of tik tok, I hope she'll do what  Beyoncé and Drake did.

i mean her “hits” since that era (other than telephone) have been minor at best. She’s had iconic songs culturally, but by commercial metrics they haven’t been as big. BMS was an outlier, but i see this one being bigger than it.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

In fairness when she dropped chromatica tiktok had by no means become the business model for the industry and that was 2 years ago :laughga: like she dropped it and tiktok blew up kinda concurrently

Drunk in Love??? That was definitely not minor and formation is pretty widely known as well

I’m so surprised Cuff it is getting popular in streaming like it totally sounds like 4 to me it’s a fun song but that sound is 4 so it’s nothing extremely special, people really didn’t listen to that album and 11 years later they are loving it

When 4 was dropped EDM was king. Now disco and funk are super trendy so this makes sense plus her vocals are gorgeous on it and are just fun. There’s not a ton of unabashedly fun songs out rn that are also good lmao like multiple generations can have fun with it

drunk in love had a cheeky grammys boost, but never really stuck that hard. it debuted and went to number 2 after their performance but it wasn’t a lasting hit, fell pretty hard and fast afterwards.

formation was also a massive cultural hit but she sabotaged its commercial success with the Tidal of it all so it never met its full commercial potential. the way she flubbed the potential biggest smash of her career is a travesty on par with armageddon.

the albums themselves are massive moments and huge successes but shes almost been intentionally sabotaging her single success ever since 4’s singles failed to land super well (which definitely helps her solidify herself as an album artist, so i don’t even blame her for it).

I hope so. I don’t really care for the song but I want Beyoncé to have another big hit to prove all the haters wrong who believe she’s no longer a main pop girl.

Yeah I think she intentionally wanted to rewrite success in her own terms and get out of the singles game. That said, even though tidal messed with it, for sheer impact, people KNOW formation by those opening chords

I mean she’s not bc she’s legit a pop legend lmao that said, legends can get hits AND set the standard

I had to look for it to hear it, but it sounds better than Break My Soul tbh (and more catchy so it will probably rise considering todays trends)

I still don't think it will be something big, compared to her old days, like others mentioned

^ yeah, if anything America is a little behind.  It's bigger in several countries right now.   Top 10 in UK already (I think?)
