Parties on both the left and right of the political spectrum in Germany have announced a "hot autumn" with regular Monday demonstrations.

The socialist Left Party was the first to announce the new series of protests against Germany's rising prices for gas, energy and food.

It chose Leipzig, a city in former East Germany, as the location for its first Monday march on September 5. Source- https://www.dw.com/en/germans-revive-cold-war-monday-demonstrations-amid-inflation/a-63025218

This is a breakdown of the participants according to German urban planning Youtuber Adam Something:

For anybody (rightfully) weirded out by how people on the extremes of the spectrum can finally agree on something, I recommend you to read the book The Fourth Political Theory by Aleksandr Dugin. This lays out the fundation of Russia's expansionist politicies in and outside Europe and intreprets Russiia place in the world both from the lense of its Soviet legacy and fight against classical liberalism.

The leftist groups and especially the leftist party in German parliament are a complete joke unfortunately. One half is just about identity politics without regard for socioeconomic contexts and the other doesn't care about discrimination unless it's "discrimination" of the poor white working class in eastern Germany and blames everything on the west. The latter are the ones protesting now and as you can see they share a lot of ideological views with far right groups. Also anti-vax etc.

Oh and fun fact: Said leftist party pretends to be anti-war but only when it comes to wars started by the US. They're blissfully ignorant of the many Russian attacks on former soviet countries since WW2 and their disgusting war crimes.

This seems to be well coordinated across Europe, especially with the timing of suspension of Nord Stream 1.

So my guess is the Russian FSB are involved in this? And as usual, european intelligence agencies are sleeping. You know in the U.S, they recently arrested individuals that the Justice Department said were colluding with Russia to "have U.S citizens act as illegal agents of Russia" and "Sow unrest", an example from July below:

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/russian-national-charged-conspiring-have-us-citizens-act-illegal-agents-russian-government

Why can't europeans do the same? I understand free speech, but also free speech must not be exploited by foreign hostile actors and become a target for espionage acts.

Investigate and arrest the organizers of these protests, if they are colluding with foreign parties. It doesn't matter if they are politicians or not.

Russia is also funding these groups, no doubt, and is involved in propaganda in Europe (and America). For months, the situations on the frontlines is almost fully frozen: Russia cannot advance in the east past certain villages and Ukraine (who launched its longa-waited counter-offensive last week in Kherson) cannot make progress either. Russia wants to capitalize on this. This is why Putin said he is ready to negociate to Zelensky, because he knows he can't take any more territory and wants the West to give some sort fo recognition to Russia's new borders. And now that winter is coming, Russia will use ''different weapons''.

Lmaooo yall clearly aren’t aware of what is going on in Europe to say that these protests are organized by the kremlin or smtg. The inflation is pushing the people to the edge, the increase in gas and electricity price announced for this winter is just insane. In France 1 megawatt hour was 85€ last year now it’s 1000€ !!! Some people are going to die if nothing is done to stop this, protests will grow and as a result the support for Ukraine is weakening. Btw the sanctions are not even having the effects excpected on russsian economy, it’s doing way better than we thought, while Europe’s economy is threatening to go into recession :spin:

We really need to rethink our sanctions cause Russia's not impacted as we expected it, just like with the sanctions we applied after they invaded Crimea years ago which did hurt us more than the Russians...

So you want to rethink the sanctions because they are also hurting the EU? You want to stop the sanction and keep being dependent on Russia, so that they can keep using it as a constant threat?

And yes, Russia is involved in this. Especially in germany there has been recorded a flood of russian accounts and fake websites spreading misinformation. Next to what’s formerly being said about the USA it’s seems pretty aware in my opinion.

Let me ask you this question: Would russia be interested in such a campaign, if the sanctions where in fact only hurting the EU?

I‘d say, let’s get try to get a little less dependent, even if it’s going to hurt for now. Because it will be beneficial for future development. I’m not even touching on the moral aspect of it all..

Since it gonna hurt us terribly ( eventually to the point of major political crisis for some countries ) and has no strong impact on Russia, what's the point?

Isn't it the point to hurt their economy badly enough it becomes a real tool to stop the war?

Right now their economy is more dynamic than the US one according to the last reports... :/

If it was affecting them significantly I would approve it but now it doesn't seem efficient sadly.

No not stopping sanctions, finding ones that work.

And obviously no I don't want to be dependent of Russia. Energy sovereignty is something I want and it should have been done since a long time but buying Russian energy through other countries like many of the sanctioning nations do is still depending on Russia just as much.

You just buy it for a heavier price for adding a middle-man who wants his margin but Russia keeps exporting.

I partially quoted since the rest of your comment about propaganda wars wasn't directed to me.

Yes, not everything was directed to you and I completely agree with your point that we have to find measures that have a better impact.

Sorry if it looked like I was attacking you. I‘m very happy though that you gave more context :)

well this is also the result of awful political choices from the german government to be 50% dependent on russian gas while abandoning its national nuclear energy. They knew that Russia was not a trustful partner to be that much dependent on its ressources, now they’re facing the consequences of it, people have the right to be angry
