Gaga on ARTPOP Act 2 (From 2013)

Yes, it's another ARTPOP Act 2 thread but this time just wanted to remind people of what she said about this. First of all, several fans here think there's barely anything there, most likely 3-5 unfinished demos but Gaga herself has said that Act 2 is an album that she used to play with her friends. But anyway, I think it's really interesting the way she felt about the music she was making at that time. The last part is pretty important.

I hate to say it but I miss this gaga. She needs to release whatever this second act is because just talking about it brings her to tears while she feels kind of insecure and detached from Chromatica. This clip reminded me how passionate and confident she would be about her music. If she's all about this brutalist theme and facing yourself, she needs to face ARTPOP again.

I think she loved ARTPOP, and I think it really hurt her how it was received and she didn't want to have the same thing happen to the rest of it. Maybe she still doesn't, and maybe that's the reason she doesn't want to release it. She doesn't want it to be ruined for her by everyone's opinions and criticisms ..that makes sense to me

Like other members said this is one of my fave interviews ever. And I agree with you on the fact that there is obviously a lot of material left over for ARTPOP Act 2, despite some fans thinking that there are just a few unfinished demos.

gaga herself said there was like 90

songs made for ARTPOP, and said there’s a whole Act 2 (didn’t she even say there is enough material for an act 3?)

also DJWS himself said he has an ARTPOP computer with around 40 almost finished songs and demos. Also we know Tea exists. Also Temple, Nothing On, Onion Girl, etc. 

So ARTPOP Act 2 DOES exist, despite some fans thinking it’s just unfinished beats/ideas

Honestly I think she’s still traumatized by ARTPOP and she can take her time to heal from it.

I think there’s still a small chance that she could release it out of kindness for her select fans

I have high hopes that we will see something for the album’s 10th anniversary. Could be as simple as a deluxe edition on digital platforms with 3 new songs or she can go all out and release ACT 2. Not doing something would be so disrespectful to AP. Like it’s her most talked about album, be it good or bad. It stood the test of time and if people are still talking about it, it did something right!

are you kidding? she's literally crying about how healing and important Act 2 is for her, the last thing she wants to do is let the public hear it and open it up to critizism and i fail to see how that would be any way produtive for her mental health just cus you guys wanna hear it yourselves

i wanna hear it too but after seeing how important it is for her to keep it private, it now feels weird if she were to release it

I’m not sure if I want her to release it. I mean ARTPOP stands out on its own. It had this moment, you can’t talk about this record without mentioning the whole context of the time it came out.

Then 10 years later you get new tracks that will feel like hey there you go guys and not adding much to the ARTPOP narrative 

and what if the tracks are not as good as the the ones we already know?  I don’t want them to be a part of ARTPOP’s legacy. She honestly can keep the act 2, unless she’s planning something and that she will stand by the new tracks and not just drop them like the BTW 10y covers which felt totally random
