That’s not a good argument at all, radio IS part of why songs are hits. Music is consumed in different ways, Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” was big on iTunes because it’s targeted at an older audience who still buys music, while songs like Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” are huge on streaming because they are viral on TikTok.

“Break My Soul” is also #6 on US Spotify (and #2 on Apple Music) right now (on top of being huge on the radio, like you said) so it is a massive hit.

Up until last week the song was not even in the US top 50. It is release week and obviously people are checking the songs out especially the single but up until this point I wouldn’t say it’s a massive hit. The song could explode in the future but check out atrl even the hives were stressed out last week that the song was underperforming. It’s a decent hit in the US and big in the UK but pretty bad everywhere else for a comeback single. 
Radio has been spamming the song yet it was free falling till release week. Obviously it didn’t connect with the GP.

Lizzos points were low too for the 1 but let’s be real About Damn time and as it was are way way bigger hits that BMS. Those are massive hits, not a song that hasn’t connected with the GP.

I haven't read the whole thread, so forgive me please if someone has already said the obvious thing which I'm about to say.

There is no 'better' or 'best'. Beyonce, Gaga, all of em, they're not competing against each other at Wimbledon where somebody emerges as the champion, they're artists producing art. How good they are is subjective. If you prefer Beyonce to everyone else, that's you and that's fine, same for any artist.

My own opinion .... I find Beyonce a bit clinical. I prefer Gaga's goofiness. I don't think Beyonce is anywhere near the level of MJ or Madonna.

It’s album release week, Harrys album took over the majority of the top 20 and so did Drake.  Doesn’t mean that Music for a Sushi restaurant is a big hit (yet) just because it reached top 10 for 1 week.

“Music for a Sushi Restaurant” went #8 on the Hot 100, not #1.

What’s your point? If it’s #1, it means it’s the biggest song in the country. It’s also not some random song that charted high for one week. It’s been in the Top 10 for a month, and will stay there for many more weeks.

Butter was 1 for 10 weeks, Nikki had a number 1 last year that’s all been forgotten. I’m not saying its not a hit but you can’t seriously say it’s comparable to About Damn Time, Levitating, As it was etc. now those were big hits. BMS is really not being streamed as much as a big hit should.

Gaga’s a trained dancer and has been for over a decade. Beyonce may look better dancing because of her build but that doesn’t mean Gaga can’t learn the same moves and perform them too? I’m not saying Gaga’s a BETTER dancer let alone as good as Beyonce - I’m just saying she CAN keep up.
