To be fair it could be a very triggering subject for her to talk about

so she is putting herself above the rights of hundreds of thousands of women? :wtf: The thing with Gaga's past experiences with abuse and illness is that the fans use it as an excuse for every misstep and mishap.

I don't know what's going on, but wholeheartedly agree that I'm disappointed Gaga hasn't spoken up. She's not shy about politics. Lest we forget just 18 months ago she sang at Biden's inauguration, and there's the obvious political payola behind Top Gun.

Gaga has used her voice for good many times before, and she's very aware of her platform. But she has PTSD and had a psychotic break when she was questioned about sexual assault during a deposition. This topic hits VERY close to home for her. Of course we can't know for sure that this is the reason for her silence, but it would be a pretty good reason if so.

So gaga should just relive her trauma for you seriously stop acting as if celebrities are obligated to say because they are not seriously get over yourself

For all we know, Gaga could be anti-abortion. Lol

She has definitely taken a back seat when it comes to LGBTQ rights though. Even before the supreme court threats, trans people in this country have had it rough. But, hey, maybe Gaga just doesn’t feel like she should be the spokesperson anymore.

If that’s the case, I wouldn’t consider Gaga to be a political artist anymore.

But I agree that celebrities who you would think are allies have been completely silent. You think the MAGA’s have have scared them into hiding? Or do they not really care about these issues if it’s no longer a PR boost?

why can someone relive their trauma by making videos, but not by making a statement? again, like I said, it's an excuse for everything.

Um I disagree with this tbh.

We saw her face her trauma starting with Swine, SXSW, the Hunting Ground, Til It Happens to You, and her campaign with Biden in 2015. So it's definitely not an issue with her.

I think it's just that she's simply outgrown posting her thoughts to social media.

And yeah, I'm disappointed she hasn't said anything and probably won't say anything too. It's unlike her considering her past activism but meh. What can you do?

I stopped looking to celebrities for moral guidance ages ago and that includes Gaga. She's a cool lady that I relate to and that makes music I like. I enjoy her as an entertainer, that's enough for me tbh.

Gaga is not obligated to say something so stop making such a big deal out of it also if says anything because it could backfire on her because of the your a celebrity so it doesnt affect you crowd

Ma'am :laughga:

I don't care if she says anything, personally. But with a history of activism spanning all the way back to when she was a nobody dancing on poles in underground clubs you can't be surprised when fans are confused at the lack of even a tweet about basic human rights being threatened or taken away

This could be true, but we also don't know her triggers, or what she's experiencing behind closed doors. It's easy to draw conclusions from the sidelines, but cases like this are always more complex than they appear.

I'm also wondering if everyone in this thread (not you specifically, PartySick) watched Gaga in that Oprah show last year. It illustrates the gravity of this topic in relation to Gaga's mental health.
