Russia Cuts Gas Flows To Germany Again As They Await Turbine From Canada

The Nordstream pipeline is once again down in flows to just 20% of Capacity.

 

Russia blames maintenance issues and that it's waiting for the Wind Turbine to be returned from Canada

 

Replacement parts also need to be sent to Canada for repair although the returned turbine for now will fix the problem according to the Russian

 

Meanwhile some are skeptical Russia actually can't send the gas and is using this as a way to troll and damage Germany and the EU or simply to try to circumvent sanctions which require an exemption for the turbine to be returned and for the other parts to be repaired

why do they send the parts to canada anyways? i guess the manufacturer (based in canada?) for the specific parts is the only one authorized to work on them?

I doubt Russia would care at this point to honour rules on "authorization" or patents or contracts like that

 

More than likely they don't have a domestic manufacturer that produces the specific components they need for this turbine and so they can't make their own or repair their own

 

Unlike consumer goods that are produced in very high volumes and so almost every countries will to some degree produce some equivalent to chips, or cookies or packaged food etc... Industrial goods have less bulk and so some stuff isn't produced in every Nation and gets imported instead

 

Those supply chain of more rare heavy industrial stuff is not very easy to just suddenly replace if you don't have it in your Country and the Countries u import it from can't supply u. 

 

That's probably why Russia is making such a huge stinking deal about 1 wind turbine and a few component parts we were supposed to repair for them as well
