Like her performance of Alice is very conceptual and could have been a simple and effective mv. Then I was like..."ohhhh ok! this is why Gaga does not do that many mvs anymore!". She does not feel like the only way to express your visual art is through the medium of music videos. She can equally express high concept ideas simply in performances (plus it is cost effective / way cheaper)! I think this is the reason we only got 8 and a half mvs from ARTPOP, Joanne and Chromatica since 2012 tbh! Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The concept of music videos needing to perform is very consumer/capitalism. look at Superfruit. Look at iamiwhoami. These artist make music videos for every song, and it’s not about the views. And she pushed the whole industry to do the same and make more interesting music videos. She doesn’t release as much content related to her music in general. And I don’t think it’s budget related either. I mean she’s one of the biggest popstars if not the biggest.
