France is not the only country that pledged to defend the 2 new potential NATO members, as they also signed a signed a mutual defense treaty with the UK.

Since Turkey won't let them come to NATO, NATO will go to them :vegas:

In theory they should also have the support of Germany, Italy etc because EU states should protect each other. But it remains unclear to what extend mutual military support in EU is actually binding. If Iam not mistaken, UK and US gave Ukraine security guarantees after it gave up its nukes and looks how that played out. :bear:

I guess Erdogan is selling high the key to enter NATO, but I think it might still be possible.

The Germanic/Anglo-Saxon word united. cover5.jpg

Are these actual treaties/ statements though? I am unfamiliar with them. Also Iceland doesn't basically even have an army. :sis:

It does! But stil not an army itself. :sis:

Something interesting from Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defence_of_Iceland Iceland has never participated in a full-scale war or invasion. Furthermore, the constitution of Iceland has no mechanism to declare war. Iceland is traditionally not bothered by military threats, kind of similar to Switzerland.

Finland and Sweden aren't Eastern European countries.
