This happened 25 years ago and we have absolutely no context as to whether it was a scripted gag or not.

Looking back, they were both photographed in many photos after this both smiling and engaging with each other in a friendly way.

Why must we always force ancient information to the surface whenever any celebrity provides an opinion on literally anything?

And that's how women were expected to behave. So many women working under Harvey Weinstein did the same thing because their careers were on the line. Your comments are not only ignorant but incredibly misogynistic.

A lot of people on Twitter truly believe what Will Smith did was great. So weird. But then again people there are weird.

Will is obviously he doesn’t seem like a bad person he made a mistake he apologized. I don’t see what’s the point bringing something from 20 years ago when we don’t even know if it was a gag and back then people had a different culture. Jim made a mistake but I also don’t think he has evil in his heart either. Especially as he got older but who knows? Do u know? We don’t know these people. What’s the point of this?

I think, back in the day, some people (& apparently Jim) thought this wasn't a big deal, since to him it's "just a kiss" and actors have to kiss on screeen all the time & he obviously wasn't intending anything else since it was in front of the whole world. People have, within time, gotten a lot more sensitive with these kind of things while many years back, some people didn't find this so "bad"... I don't think he had bad intentions, he was being naive while just trying to be funny I think.

And no, I don't support this behavior at all &  I wouldn't have liked this either. And u could clearly see she wasn't all too fond :awkney: (understandable)

No, they’re not, but go off sis.

You’re making an assumption on a situation that we have no context of.

I support all victims of sexual assault, however we cannot be making baseless claims about situations when the person involved has made no comment on it. That can be unbelievably damaging to someone’s career, celebrity or otherwise.

If Alicia Silverstone released a statement about this tomorrow and stated this made her feel uncomfortable in any way, then I’d back her 100%, but until then, it’s all speculation and cancel culture for the sake of it.

If anything, it’s incredibly ignorant to automatically to assume she had an issue with complete vagueness about the situation and absolutely no context.

Let’s just cancel everyone and get offended by everything please. No more celebrities. No more opinions. No more bad words. Let’s pretend everything is roses forever.

Just A Holy Fool

Oh wow, that Jim Carrey/Alicia Silverstone moment... I had totally forgotten about this. Its so gross. The thing with Will Smith I think clearly was just them having fun... but Alicia did not look like she was having fun up there

Its a bit silly to bring up something that someone did in the 90s in regards to what's happening today in 2022. So you can't call someone out for doing something wrong today without people being like remember in the winter of 1986 on Tuesday Dec 7th at exactly 4:56PM you also made a mistake.

I'm not a fan of cancelling people for a mistake they made years ago and they've never done since, particularly if it involves a situation that was considered acceptable at the time. But wow, in this case, people in glass houses really shouldn't throw stones. And the cherry on the top is knowing he tried it with the same guy who he's now criticising for doing exactly the same behaviour - invasion of someone's personal space. You couldn't make this up.

I have no idea what used to possess men to think that they're entitled to forcibly kiss a woman on the mouth when meeting her for the first time or if she was presenting him with an award. Richard Dawson used to kiss all the female contestants on Family Feud when he met them, claiming that it was a good luck charm and continued to do it even when people complained. I remember when I was at an end of year school awards night and the head girl had to give a gift to one of the guest speakers and while he didn't kiss her on the lips, he full on embraced her right round the shoulders and kissed her cheek and understand that this girl must have been 17 or 18 at the most and was wearing her school uniform. It's wild to think at the time that we thought nothing of it or even saw it as mildly funny. If it happened today, heads would roll.

Oh, and in case anyone forgot, he make a weird video years ago detailing his fantasies about Emma Ston. He's been a weird guy for some time but a lot of people have forgotten:

The amount of celebs coming out as “traumatized and triggered” by this scenario is comical. Especially because they’ve all got **** that stinks and I feel like everyone jumping on the wagon to **** on Will is part of what motivated him to walk on stage and do what he did. We’ve been making memes and jokes about this man and his marriage for years now and when he finally puts his foot down and stands up for himself or his wife (albeit, in an overly assertive manner) he gets clowned even harder.

Out of this entire situation I only really feel bad for Will. Everyone else seems to be playing the victim when the real victim seems to be Will and I don’t even think he can see it.
