oh please drop the vulnerable trans woman narrative. she came from a wealthy family, she had enough money to independently fund and release music under her own label (bunhead). after four years of independence and experience she decided to sign with dr luke despite the controversy. she dismissed any criticism and basically said she doesn’t believe kesha. she isn’t naive and vulnerable, she knew what she was doing. she’s just a very desperate fame hungry person that wanted to work with a successful producer that had good beats because she wants to be a famous pop star. let’s not forget how she recently name dropped gaga, who is a victim of abuse and defended kesha in court.

she didn't "decide to sign with dr. luke despite the controversy" she was rejected by all the major labels. and she began working with him in 2013 pre-allegations. and, AGAIN, saweetie began working with him in 2015, why don't you criticise her at all?

stop tearing apart people of color, trans folks, and just women generally for the actions of men. i mean my god people on here seem to want people like kim to face more repercussions than dr. luke has ever and will ever face. 

there were rumors all the way back to the teenage dream days about dr. luke, and i’m sure most of ya’ll yelling about kim have been and will continue to stream early katy music until the end of time. 

the truth about who knew what when and what actually happened is probably way more complicated than we will ever know. it just seems like we should be celebrating the only prominent trans pop star unless she herself does something wrong directly

so what? she wasn’t forced to do it. just because it’s your only option doesn’t mean you have to accept it. she accepted that option because she wanted to be famous. she then continued to work with him after the kesha lawsuit in 2014 and painted kesha to be a liar. also, this thread is about kim petras not saweetie. that’s why i didn’t mention her. make a seperate thread about that if you’re so passionate to defend every person who chooses to work with a rapist. 

when asked if she would cut ties with luke, kim said ‘maybe. maybe not’. she’s made it very clear that she freely chooses to work with a rapist. stop defending trash.

Also, every time you stream most of Katy’s hits you’re giving Dr. Luke coin. I understand the frustration that he still has a career and went by so unscathed, but to take the time to visit a thread just to say how much you don’t support the discussed artist is just a waste of time

not to excuse her working with r.kelly but DWUW is not the same... the era died swiftly and she later removed the song off all future copies of the album

i'm sure fans at the time were just as mad, infact i doubt you'll find anyone who thought it was a good idea
