Seriously? At that point the fetus is literally a potentially deadly parasite, why the hell would they restrict treatment for that?

...Idk why I'm asking. These are the same people that argue rape can't lead to pregnancy because a female's body has "a way to shut that stuff down".

The people trying to ban treatment for ectopic pregnancy honestly don't even know what the treatment is...

makes me want to scream for real

The fact that Republicans, and especially the Republican super majority Supreme Court, won't intervene into laws that violate constitutional rights based on the principle that the enforcer is not a government official is totally shameful. What rights will be taken next via a prohibitive lawsuit legislation? Will we go back to anti-sodomy legislation that lets private citizens sue queer people for their consensual sex? Nothing is impossible until the Supreme Court determines these lawsuit bills violate the constitution.

We really are back in the 20s

Not even, we've never been this far back. Abortions used to be hush-hush before Republicans turned it into an issue. Even conservatives used to be pro-abortion rights when they were anti-catholic.

But hey the US got so lucky that Trump didn't get reelected!

This is a state legislature, has nothing to do with Trump or Biden.

Yes, we will. They're already gunning for this.

I don't get why the US gov can't just say "yeah, no you thought."

They could. But, currently, they won't. Guess who blocked it.

We sure did. It just doesn't mean that the fight is over. Yeah, it sucks to have to keep fighting the same battles over and over, but that's how it is.

Religion in Government is a disease that needs to be eradicated.

Fixed

On the real, decrepit old white religious men have no business writing laws for the masses. Their views are far and away against the will of the majority. So infuriating seeing this happening in 2022.

Women might as well be behind this bill too you know, there are religious and non religious women who back this type of thing.

This is horrid. :omg::eww:

A good friend of mine had an ectopic pregnancy twice and it's terrible. And you know what: she lives in a developing country in the global south with a extremely patriarchal society and restrictive abortion law. Yet removing the embryo in that case was not an issue at all.

Can women at least go to other states legally for abortion?
