i truly think the only thing that could get the academy to reverse their stupid decision is if gaga threatened to skip the red carpet like this…like when they were going to cut some of the other song performances and she said she wouldn’t do shallow unless everyone got their time. 

trying to make the oscar’s more entertaining and accesible to non film twitter people is a noble effort but they always try to do it in the stupidest ways

So many questions. What kind of leverage does Gaga have to convince the Oscars to do anything? She’s not even nominated this year. What kind of impact would her red carpet absence have? It’s not like the majority of people outside this website watch the show solely to see her. Jessica has an award to win, so I can understand why she’d make this gesture, but even so, it’s not like the 8 categories being cut are necessarily a bad thing, let alone something worth protesting over. Weren’t they cut to shorten the overall runtime of the televised show?

It honestly bugs me when people decide on some moral decision and then decide they have to impose that on Gaga or anyone else. Who is anyone to make a decision for Gaga and declare she “should” skip her red carpet or anything else. Gaga has done so many things over and above what most celebrities would do for people in need, including founding the Born this Way Foundation, and pulling all her album sales down from her site even tho she had JUST released Chromatica when the BLM movement was gaining steam. She does a lot. I wish people would stop demanding she follow anyone’s else’s opinion on what she “should” do. Let her enjoy the red carpet if she wants to.
