My favorite album kinda changes all the time, but Confessions is probably it. I've also been obsessed with Bedtime Stories recently, an album I weirdly had always paid dust before. An unpopular opinion of my own is that MDNA wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be It's my favorite Madge album from the past decade. It's truly full of major bops. Madonna has a good voice and she took risks and paved the way for other popstars, deserves the Queen of Pop title she has BUT she doesn't have the greatest vocals. Confessions is a cool album but a little overrated by the gays. It does have some unnnecessary tracks in there. Ray of Light too. Both albums are good and some of her best but would've been better with just 10 tracks. Music is underrated. American Life too but they call it underrated so much that it's not anymore lol a nice experimental work but messy. Her 80's albums (Like A Prayer, True Blue, Like A Virgin and Madonna) have pretty boring non singles. Erotica and Bedtime Stories are so good from start to finish. Madame X is a much better album than MDNA, Hard Candy and maybe Rebel Heart but this one is cool too. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Madame Goo Goo 3,870 Posted March 18, 2022 Share Posted March 18, 2022 Oh God I have so many - Love Song is a contender for her worst song ever made - Give Me All Your Luvin' is great (and might be a Gaga diss track, don't see many people discussing this theory but I 100% support it) - Rebel Heart deserves all 24 of it's songs, if you shrink the tracklist to like 12-15 songs it feels incomplete somehow. - Her only good lead acting role was Evita and I think we have the fact that the film is entirely sung through (to pre-recorded music) to blame - She sounds terrible for most of the Madame X film, save a few songs such as Frozen - Speaking of Frozen, it is her best song objectively and the Madame X tour version is the best she has ever sounded doing this song, even with the rest of the tour being weak vocally - Erotica is not a great album. I find that a lot of the earlier Madonna albums are half great half filler-but-decent. Prior to Erotica she probably had at most 5 or 6 terrible songs. On Erotica, I find the majority of it to be meh (Bye Bye Baby, Waiting, In This Life, Why's It So Hard?) with a few songs being absolutely terrible (Where Life Begins, Words, Thief Of Hearts, and Did You Do It?). The rest of the songs on the album somehow are an 11/10. It's odd for sure. - I think her directing the biopic is a huge risk and it is going to give it a lot more buzz, and if she pulls off directing this movie successfully it will be the key to restoring her public image. - Confessions is incredibly overrated, but the singles plus a few deep cuts from it are very strong. Maybe a top 5 album, but no higher than that. Speaking of rankings, here is my personal ranking which may be a little unpopular. It's my personal opinion, objectively I would probably do it a bit different. I don't dislike any of her albums except for Erotica. 1. American Life 2. Madame X 3. Ray Of Light 4. True Blue 5. MDNA 6. Music 7. Like A Prayer 8. Confessions On A Dance Floor 9. Hard Candy 10. Bedtime Stories 11. Rebel Heart 12. Madonna 13. Like A Virgin 14. Erotica - MDNA is not that bad of an album, just a little half baked. I prefer to listen to my revised tracklisting of the album, where I shift some things around to form a cohesive divorce narrative and take away some of the more questionable cuts. - Madonna has completely lost touch with reality and it is only getting worse.
