jeremiahsaint1000 487
neither one has influenced everyday peoples fashion lets be honest, but in celeb culture more celebs stepped up their fashion game after gaga shocked the world
Versace 7,959
I think Kim has had more influence on makeup/lips/body than she did on actual clothing. What looks that Kim has worn come to mind when you think groundbreaking in terms of fashion? other than the silly what color is it dress. As for Gaga multiple answers exist for that question. Kim’s influence caused people to either get body modifications to look supposedly exotic like her and her sisters or has made people embrace their naturally curvy figure, and she definitely was part of the face contouring craze, again nothing related to clothing fashion. Hyoha 1,613
I'm not really sure what impact Kim did with or without Kanye. She started being really fashion-forward after they got married. He obviously had an influence over her aesthetic.

Then she created Skims on her own, pursued partnerships with Givenchy, Schiaparelli and most notably Balenciaga (where she is featured in their recent ad campaign). He made her more stylish and fashion-forward, sure. But the influence was all Kim. She sold it.

Well, that really is an interesting question. I would say Gaga and Kim haven't been influential at the same time, and to the same people. Like others pointed out, Gaga really lit a fire under other performers' asses and pushed them into exploring more extravagant visuals, plus she helped the LGBT youth and underdogs of the time - me included - to come out of their shells, whereas Kim's aesthetic has found its way into regular people's homes. She has especially shaped the aesthetic of the "popular girl", I would say, and it circled back around into the performing sphere with people like Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa or the Hadid sisters emulating those new beauty standards. So yeah, two very different cases. While I would say Gaga's fashion influence peaked in the early 2010s and particularly affected fellow performers, I believe today is very much a Kardashian world. You’re kind of right! But if you’ve seen KUWTK Kanye literally threw her whole wardrobe a month or so in their relationship. She’s said he had a huge part of her style,we were seeing her wearing YEEZY/YEEZUS head to toe

Married the Night 3,955
Gaga influenced fashion more but Kim influenced beauty standards more. If that makes sense.
