They’re now letting it rip through society since Omicron is more mild. The handling of COVID-19 by the world overall has been a complete failure. From governments AND the people. It’s time to accept we are on our own and must protect ourselves. Get vaxxed, wear a mask, and be smart. Couldn't have said it better myself Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams. And it will probably be quicker too with everything reopening and pretending the pandemic is over. European countries did fairly well in 2020 and most of 2021 but lately with people getting tired and starting to pretend it's over things are just getting worse. It's time to grow up and learn to adapt - not just pretend things are over. We are not pretending its over we still have strickt rules in place for an example you need a qrcode to go to most places and we stil have to social distancing and even during lockdown the cases still rose so that didnt work and your country isnt doing any better so how about you just stop bashing us
ARTPOP 3,096
Can people stop saying "We should pretend it is over and adapt" or "Omicron is milder ,let´s treat it like the flu and get it over with". Are you virologists ? Do not pretend you know better than them, just because you want to go to concerts. Being milder does not mean we know how to deal with it. The infection rate is super high, with unpredictable fast mutations according to scientists. I can´t with some of you being tired of QR codes and Vaccination certificates.. The way this helped protect us and the public, while lifting restrictions on some sectors is smart. Freedom is one thing, Public health is another. Let the experts handle public health and have your personal freedoms while it does not pose danger on the public. I am not saying you are trumpsters, if you keep using news headlines and your opinions as facts , you might be going there.... COME ON GAYS!!

I’m trying to warn you because you will become the US The US has handled the pandemic PATHETICALLY and everyone else seems to be following those footsteps sooner or later. There needs to be a balance of measures. QR codes are useless now. With Omicron the vaccinated are also infecting others.

No concerts, no festivals etc? I just can't see it, it has to stop at some point a better vaccine that actually works better and doesn't lose its efficacy every 6 months... or medication you can take, some are coming soon in France. Or giving vaccines to countries that can't afford it You answered yourself, this is when the pandemic will be officially over. Let´s not pretend it is over because it causes inconveniences on our personal lives. COME ON GAYS!!

Who said cower in fear? It’s called taking adequate measures. They’re now going for the “let’s infect everyone” route. Instead of trying to contain the spread. US did the same and we are now at nearly 3K dead every day. Herd immunity looks like is the goal but I hope a new variant that is deadlier doesn’t pop up and makes this even worse. Debithius 6,059
People seem to be more okey with living with the disease in general so yeah, let's just scrap all the restrictions for once.

Uhm, it's not like new variants didn't pop up even with lockdowns. All lockdowns did was stall the virus, it would have spread and mutated anyway. Not The Real Gaga 7,599
Instead of adapting a new life style, we could also accept that this virus won't go away and will be deadlier than the flu. We can't go on living in fear for something that have little to no impact on the health of the far majority of the population. Going from lockdown to lockdown and other restrictive measures do also a lot of damage. They hurt the economy and impact the general physical and mental health of much more people. We should invest in healthcare systems and professionals, so we are able to better address increased infection rates.
