U literally have to remove ur mask and for anyone that doesnt keep their mouth closed 100% of time while chewing it also means increased saliva droplet spraying

It doesnt take a genius to see how the popcorn is related to increased risk of spread

LOL as if... c'mon.. it's ridiculous who thinks of these things? that's way too specific nobody does that

What do u mean specific? I literally thought of the reasons why the first time i read about popcorn like 2 seconds after... i think they are kinda obvious

If ppl learned to take a step back and tried to understand that there may be reasons for a certain decision rather than the programmed modern cultural mentality to just immediately criticize and jump to the conclusion its stupid and useless it might help people to not be so lost all the time. If u approach things u don't understand with an open mind and benefit of the doubt its usually easier to reason on the why of something than if u in ur mind already decided its just the government being dumb and dont even put an effort to understand the why

Most Governments make a lot of stupid mistakes true but few governments are so incompetent that none of their laws have reasons. A lot of things that on the surface may seem to have no purpose do in fact have a purpose

So think about it first and try to understand before u criticize. Ppl are way too quick to criticize everything in general these days (not just government) before understanding the facts. No one likes to give the benefit of the doubt on anything anymore

When will ppl stop calling governments dictators or fascists anytime they impose rules or restrictions for our own good?

If the idea of freedom is taken to the extreme that we should have no rules at all and never be told what to do then we might as well not have government at all and be a every man for himself kind of society

We need structure and guidance to avoid anarchy and chaos

Idk man...I just think I should have the right to floor it through a school zone. If people are so worried about their kids' safety then they should pull them out of school, don't restrict my rights!

And what's with this whole "hey, you can't set my house on fire" stuff? If your fire extinguishers really work then why is my arson a problem?

And it is my god given right to fire a gun straight up into the air! If you're sooooOOOOOOooo worried about the bullet coming back down then wear a helmet! Don't tell me what to do!

Tired of these fascist rules, I swear :saladga:

Tbh. I was thinking this very same thing when I had to wait on a red light when light was green for flowing traffic on the otherside

The government is sooooo opressive they even tell me when i have to stop my car while driving. How dare they!!!!

I can drive and stop when I please. Its the other ppls problem if they arent whatching for incoming cross traffic when they approach an intersection!

Do that in 2020, 2 years later to forbid people to drink while standing up, but ur allowed sitting down, or to forbid popcorn, it's so weird to me. Can't they see we all struggle and we are tired and exhausted, tell people to do boosters, force them if you want, but stop with little things like that, it's like finding a way to kill joy in your day to day. Not only that but the virus still circulates, and still hurts you but prevents death with vaccine, but it circulates, it will always circulate unless u do a better damn vaccine that works well. So why all these stupid small detail rules just to piss people off?? Do the basic ones, wear your mask, social distance even tho u cant do it in subways, buses, planes, or crowded areas, and the vaccine mandates. But for God sake stop with all these small little details, okay, if someone stays in a room in cinema, putting down their masks for 50 seconds to eat popcorn doesn't mean you'll catch omicron, cinemas are not ventilated anyways, no windows, and you're stuck there with people for an hour, no your little blue mask is not gonna save you from omicron, just like it won't in the subway. Just get real a little bit

u can debate and disagree on whether or not we should continue to have restrictions to reduce spread but thats kind not the point

I was responding to the assertion that the policy makes no sense or is pointless i wasnt debating whether or not it should be in place

And for the record article is saying they are removing that restriction so u saying 2 years in they shouldnt have it, france seems to agree with u so i dont get the complaint

It is if the government has their reasons for putting such restrictions and people dont wanna co-operate or follow a simple instructions.

If simple measures during a pandemic that are nothing more than an inconvinience are considered abuse of power then im the one that doesnt know what to tell u

It is an abuse of power just like north korea banning its citizens from using jeans or using certain haircuts, just because it’s france and its emmanuel mussolini doing it now doesn’t make it right

Of course you would defend this. I'm sure you're the Ontario citizen lapping up Doug Ford's restrictions again. Get a clue, these restrictions are a failure. I hope history paints these people like the tyrants they are. I am again reminded of how blessed I am to live in America, where the President has no power to ban popcorn from the theater.

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

Cases literally started dropping like a stone after tougher restrictions were re-introduced early this month. Considering hospitals were overwhelmed, i can understand why they are doing it
