holy scheisse 21,912
So I know this has been out for a while and the only thread I could find was @COOOK ‘s about the song itself, but The Nowhere Inn is a mockumentary movie starring Annie Clark (St. Vincent) and Carrie Brownstein (Sleater Kinney, costar with Fred Armisen on Portlandia). without revealing any spoilers, a general synopsis is that Annie is a touring musician and her friend Carrie comes along to make a documentary about her life. The story unfolds as Carrie notices the disparity between Annie’s stage persona and her real life persona behind the scenes, and things get pretty crazy as she tries to encourage Annie to be more like “St. Vincent” on and off the stage. has anybody seen this movie? It pretty much captivated my interest from the first second to the last bc I do have an interest in the fame ™️ and how it can change a person. I couldn’t help but think about Gaga and the struggle she’s had between being Gaga and Stefani, and how as St Vincent puts it in the movie— “[my stage persona] is both all of me and none of me at the same time” (paraphrase)
