They might value their personal enjoyement over the acclaim, which is 100% valid. Jack has a specific approach to making songs (folksy guitars and predictible piano chords, no bridges etc) and not everybody seems to enjoy it. If that's the style you prefer, very great but for a fan that is only interested in the music and not music' perception, being critically acclaimed isn't enough.

Fair enough! Is a bit of a running joke within Lana's fanbase and overemphasized for the sake of joking, I do think all fans would rather want new Jack music rather than nothing.
