Cirkut signs new deal with Universal Music Publishing Group

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has inked an exclusive, global publishing agreement with producer and songwriter Cirkut.

Cirkut, said: “I’m thrilled to be working with such an awesome group of people at UMPG. “This marks an exciting next chapter for me and I couldn’t ask for a better team to help me achieve my goals.”

Cirkut, whose real name is Henry Walter, has written and produced numerous Billboard Hot 100 No.1 singles, including Part of Me, Roar and Dark Horse by Katy Perry, Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus, and Sugar and Girls Like U by Maroon 5.

He also wrote and produced Sweet but Psycho and Kings & Queens by Ava Max, who he also executive produced and helped develop.
“I’ve been kind of involved in every facet of Ava’s career, overseeing it very closely and watching it go from the very beginning to the success she’s had now,” he told in 2020. “I’m really proud of that.”

He also produced seven songs on The Weeknd’s album Starboy, which won the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Most recently, the Canadian collaborated on Kanye West’s album Donda for the track Hurricane featuring The Weeknd and Lil Baby.
