Even before it dropped I knew it would be weird because the song structure and melody doesn’t really fit the production of the HL version. They clearly started here and then the song evolved to where it is now. I imagine she wrote the chorus to this beat then started with the verses and they realized it wasn’t quite where they wanted to go with the song and started moving further and further from it until we got to the album version which, by basically any measure, is a more interesting song and better produced because the final product was produced to suit the song they eventually wrote. This production was not made to suit the final song imo. Even still, it’s cute and I’m glad we got it but we should really look at it for what it is because it was never going to throw us for a loop lmao Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
