Not surprised and I don’t in the slightest bit feel bad. What that person deserves.

I do feel bad for his wife and kids who were not anti maskers

I feel sympathy for those who are vaccinated or wear masks but get Covid.

I feel some compassion but mostly pity for the anti-maskers who fell for the misinformation being spread but got sick.

I only pity people like this who actively spread false information. They instilled and pushed that narrative on the naive and gullible. They are responsible for plenty of people spreading the virus. They are the reason why we are still in this mess almost two years later.

A Texas man who helped organize protests against pandemic restrictions is fighting for his life after being hospitalized for nearly a month with COVID-19, the San Angelo Standard-Times reported.

His wife, Jessica Wallace, wrote Wednesday on Facebook that she had a “heartbreaking update” about her husband, Caleb.

“He’s not doing good. It’s not looking in our favor,” she said. “His lungs are stiff due to the fibrosis. They called and said they’ve run out of options for him and asked if I would consent to a do not resuscitate. And it would be up to us when to stop treatments.”

“My heart just can’t. I can’t imagine my life without him.”

In July 2020, Caleb Wallace reportedly helped organize a “freedom rally” that billed itself as a protest against the “government being in control of our lives.” He also founded the San Angelo Freedom Defenders, which hosted a separate rally last year to “end COVID tyranny.”

He wrote a letter in April to the San Angelo Independent School District that was published by a local news outlet. In it, he demanded that the school district “rescind ALL COVID-related policies immediately” and falsely claimed that wearing masks had harmful effects on children and that there was “little evidence that masks worked for anyone.”

He signed the letter as state coordinator of the West Texas Minutemen, a right-wing militia group that has disseminated extensive anti-vaccine misinformation on Facebook.

When he first felt symptoms on July 26, his wife told the Standard-Times, he refused to get tested or seek medical care. He instead began treating himself with a cocktail of Vitamin C, zinc, aspirin and ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug that has been falsely promoted as an effective treatment for COVID-19 by conservative media. He was taken to the hospital on July 30.

Jessica Wallace told the Standard-Times that she was “less conservative” than her husband and personally wears a mask.

“Caleb would tell me, ‘You know masks aren’t going to save you,’ but he understood I wanted to wear them,” she said. “It gives me comfort to know that maybe, just maybe, I’m either protecting someone or avoiding it myself.”

This is when it would of been good for him to listen to his wife. So sad. Some people’s pride. It hurts no one to wear a mask, but you can literally risk everything not to. Vaccines are proven to be safe for those who are eligible for them. COVID is a real crisis & threat & it’s sad this has to happen. In this case it happened to an anti-mask/vaxer but that’s not always the case, there are those who take precautions that die due to others lack of caution. It’s a community effort that keeps us safe, I hope that this softens others hearts who may be set in their ways. Masks & vaccines save lives.

I wish the best for anyone that has contracted Covid. But can we just all wear a f**king mask for a few extra months and get the vax? I got the vax and don’t like wearing a mask but if it’s for the greater good, then I’ll continue to wear it. As soon as we all do that, we can enter a post Covid world and get back to normal. It’s not that hard. So we have to wear it in indoor areas, transportation, sometimes at work. Maximum of like 8 hours. If we do this we can live a normal life in 2022. 😷😙

I highly doubt things will go back to normal in 2022, or even ever. A lot of countries are having trouble still even getting supply of the vaccine and it's not like tourism to those places will stop.
