Starstruck is pressed by that comment

more like Speechless tbh

Starstruck is intentionally hyper-distorted, while the autotune in Speechless is just a mess at times, even though it's one of her best songs

We been knew tbh, if you take a look at the Born This Way Vocal Multitrack from the Stems, something odd I noticed was that most of the background vocals were left raw and unprocessed, minus some compression for levelling. She really does know how to hold a note on her own, no pitch tuning of any kind needed.

I’m curious, then, if when she uses auto tune stylistically she makes her voice sound off on purpose so it has something to pick up :laughga:

Same here..she could easily win another Oscar for best song if the song is powerful

Der Meister

The Shallow Trailer version is more polished, he should've played that instead of the live version.

Healed My Heart

I agree 99.999999999999% except for the sharp note at 2:36 in Come to Mama :enigma:

But seriously, her raw vocals are breathtaking. ASIB blew me away.

She/her 💗💜💙

The effect can be achieved regardless if the singer is on key or not by adjusting Autotune settings to their most extreme, which is what Mark Ronson has done in the video.

You can still hear the effect in the very beginning "I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in", even though she's clearly on key because: the vibrato has been completely flattened, unnaturally so, (all voices have some natural vibrato and variation when you sing) and the change between notes is near instant, something the human voice is not capable of actually doing.

Autotune can actually be used more subtly so that it's mostly undetectable to fix a note here and there when it's sightly off, it's just become famous for the way it can be used to manipulate the voice to unnatural extremes.

I suspect there's still some manual pitch tuning in Shallow regardless as it's just become industry standard to have pitch corrected vocals, but very subtly done.
