Jennifer's performance received praise but there are quite a few high-profile publications that hated both, the film and her performance. They don't "see" or "feel" Aretha, but miss Hudson covering her songs. Despite all that, I think she's the closest thing to a lock in the Best Actress category for now. Wouldn’t be surprised if HoG takes its spot). Also, the film isn’t predicted for a costume nomination which shocks me (and neither was my second-in-line prediction Cruella). Bradley 59,279 Posted August 21, 2021 Share Posted August 21, 2021 I know people say that too much early buzz can make expectations difficult to meet, but I'm glad Gucci is getting consistent traction from Oscar pundits. If you're not even talked about now, you have a chance of not even getting to the nomination list, which means no winning, and no movie events for Gaga. I know people say movies are not made for awards but hey I'm a Lady Gaga fan that wants Lady Gaga to succeed, I don't think that's too unreasonable. And if the hype for Gucci dips before award season, there will be a chance it rises again later during award season. I want all the people who have dragged Kstew for 13 years to have to see Oscar Nominee/winner in front of her name.
