"Parents can still send kids to school if they're a close contact of an infected student" :nails:

These people are so arrogant and stubborn in their denial of science that it's as if they want COVID to spread, and mutate into something much worse.

Karma is coming to collect, and it's a shame that innocent lives are the currency.

Oh my gosh. This is complete opposite of what the CDC says. Other states will probably follow. I hope mine isn’t one of them. And I was worried about my safety last year. :wtf:

I mean... with the number of cases gking around whats even the point anyway? Schools would have to call you like every other day. I think its safe to say if u send ur kid to school u do it knowing theres going to be cases

I think contacting and tracing might make sense tho if its kids in the same classroom. But entire school u might as well just not open them at all or run them if thats the route ur gonna take

Its easy to instantly jump on the hate wagon cuz its Texas but if u really think about it schools would be doing nothing else all day but contacting parents and contact trace with how high cases are i  South US...

If ur worried for ur childs safety thats fair but maybe dont bring them in. Of course theres gonna be cases rn and a lot of them

Its different i think if cases were low and worried cautious parents allowed their kids to go in but wanted to be informed the moment there was a threat... with how high cases are tho parents KNOW theres a high risk when they make the decision to allow them to go in. I think it would be disruptive to have to this on a daily basis.

They didn't do this last year. They did send full classrooms home last year and the teacher and anyone that came in contact with that classroom like a teacher assistant or substitute teacher home for two weeks last year but parents of other students in the school weren't notified.

This is probably specifically about not notifying when a child is in the same classroom as someone with Covid-19.  I would feel very unsafe if that were the case.

Yeah i agree. If its the same classroom for sure they should be notified and i think its stupid not to

My comment was more directed if they meant the entire school as a whole. Cuz if everytime there was a case they had to inform or contract trace the whole school theres hot spot areas where they would be doing nothing else but that every week. When cases are high in an area ur taking a chance when u send ur kid in and you know that and ur making an informed decision knowing theres risk. A call every week everytime a case was found in a school of hundreds or thousands wouldnt serve much purpose at that point cuz if u chose to keep ur kid in everytime a case was found in the school, u basically would send them in never which brings back to the point that if ur gonna send them in u need to acknowledge the risk and that theres cases

But if its a case in the same classroom is a little different. The risk of contagion is much higher and its fewer parents to contact and fewer students to test or quarantine if need be. That theres no reason they shouldnt do!

The CDC caused this surge in cases and I will die on this hill.

Once they said no masks for vaccinated people and businesses took it as a law to not mandate masks and rely on the HONOR system (f*cking laughable) and you have all the non-vaccinated mutation factories walking around + Delta variant you get this mess.

Now even some vaccinated people are getting it.

Imagine if we just kept masks and focused on getting everyone vaccinated.

The US always gets close to a goal and ****s it up in the name of “freedom”
