The old one screams cheesy and fan-made… that’s saying something since everyone’s making their own version of it. As a graphic designer and not an American I really love the new logo. It’s dynamic, which represents LA’s diversity. It has that very American brashness too that plays well in contrast. As an outsider it really represents my impression of LA. I imagine it’ll play well in collaterals and signages. Same with London 2012, you can just play so much with it. With 7 years to go, they can tweak it up so that’s wise.
