Hi,

So I've been replaying some of my favourite JRPG these last months and man, do I love this genre. I think they have the best stories and they really feel like adventures. I decided to do a little rank with my favourite ones trying not to repeat series:

Dragon Quest III (NES, 1988) (I usually replay it on Game Boy and SNES versions tho)

Spoiler

Final Fantasy VI (SNES, 1994)

Spoiler

Live a Live (SNES, 1994)

Spoiler

Tactics Ogre (SNES, 1995) (I usually replay the PSP version)

Spoiler

Xenogears (PSOne, 1998)

Spoiler

Pokémon Gold Edition (GB, 1999)

Spoiler

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA, 2003)

Spoiler

Mother 3 (GBA, 2006)

Spoiler

Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland (NDS, 2006)

Spoiler

Persona 4 (PS2, 2008)

Spoiler

Yeah, I'm mostly into classics as you can see but I play a lot of JRPGs! So which ones are your favourites?

I don't play many JRPGs (idk why) but I love Octopath Traveler (I should finish it already)

Soft, soothing, and succulent

Love the aesthetics and graphics, although the hard level and slow dynamic in the battles with cards made it frustrating for me to ever want to complete this game...

A long game with a beautiful story and soundtrack. I enjoyed it but I also haven't completed it. I got stuck for a long time at some boss battle near the end of the game.

Every Pokémon I ever owned, I enjoyed them a lot. These are:

Also got stuck at a boss battle very far into the game, so I stopped. Man, I just realized I'm not fit for RPG games lol

These two are my absolute favorites. The gameplay, the stories, the design and art, the voice acting - its all iconic. The Tales of series is massively underrated.

Without question, Chrono Trigger (SNES) is the best JRPG ever made.

(tho I’ve honestly not played Chrono Cross and should)
